SMART STRIKE SEALS TOP-OF-THE-TABLE BATTLE IN FROSTY HOLM PARK THRILLER
A cold morning at Holm Park set the stage for a fiercely contested top-of-the-league clash, and it certainly lived up to expectations as PSP edged out Rutherglen Glencairn AFC 2-1 in a breathless encounter.

The match began as a tight, evenly balanced affair, with both sides probing cautiously in the opening exchanges. PSP were the first to threaten, breaking quickly with a sharp move that ended in a well-struck effort, only to be denied by an excellent save.
The breakthrough came soon after through a flowing PSP attack. A well-worked move saw Gal square the ball perfectly to Chrissy, who made no mistake with a tidy finish to put PSP 1-0 ahead.

However, the lead was short-lived. Rutherglen responded immediately following a misplaced pass from Callum, allowing Stalker to capitalise in spectacular fashion with an incredible finish to level the score at 1-1.

The intensity continued as Rutherglen tested PSP again, only for Jonny to produce a great save from a shot at the edge of the box.
PSP then went ahead and the moment of the match came before the break—Smart spotting an opportunity and unleashing a stunning strike from just inside the opposition half, restoring PSP’s lead in sensational style.

Half-time: PSP 2–1 Rutherglen Glencairn AFC
The second half saw Rutherglen push hard for an equaliser, creating several dangerous chances. Henry came close when his effort rattled the crossbar, before Clark was called into action with a superb save from a cut-back that looked destined for the net.
Rutherglen continued to apply pressure, delivering dangerous crosses that narrowly missed their targets, including a header that went inches wide and another effort that struck the bar in a cross-come-shot.
PSP remained dangerous on the counter, with Smart going close again during a quick break, firing just wide.
Shields was heavily involved at this point and he was given a yellow card for a bad challenge with Rutherglen claiming it should have been more.
Chrissy then produced a moment of brilliance, weaving past three defenders before squaring the ball, only for a last-ditch, goal-saving tackle to deny what seemed a certain goal.
Despite relentless pressure from Rutherglen in the closing stages, PSP held firm to secure a vital victory in this top-of-the-table showdown.
