Welcome to the business end of the season.

Points matter, but so do games played. The gaps are there, but they don’t tell the full story yet.

Here’s how the Conference run-in looks.

🏆 The Promotion Race

Only the top two go up. Three teams are still in it, and games in hand keep the gap closer than it looks.

REMO FC
Unbeaten and close. Three points from their last three games would be enough to secure top spot.

Westhill United – In Control. Sitting 2nd with a game in hand over the leaders. If they win out, they are safe

Cambuslang FA – The Spoiler. Despite being 3rd, they have 5 games left. If they win their games in hand, they tie Westhill for that final promotion spot.

Mid-Table & Long Shots

These teams are mathematically alive but realistically out of the promotion hunt due to the massive gap created by the top three.

River Nevis & Burnhill: Both have played 21 games. With only 1 game left each, they are all but eliminated from promotion contention.

Rosebank Utd

Rosebank United: The “Wildcard.” They have only played 14 games. While they have 24 points left to play for (max potential of 49), they would need a near-perfect run and the teams above them to collapse completely.

📉 The Bottom Half

Since there is no relegation, these teams are playing for pride, development, and to avoid the bottom spot.

LS Memorial & Queen’s Park SFC: Locked on 24 points. LS Memorial’s aggressive “win or lose” record (0 draws) makes them a high-variance opponent for the top teams.

Glasgow Medics: Solidly mid-table but struggling for consistency.

Cathcart AFC & Banknock FC : Battling to stay out of the bottom two.

Bearsden AFC: A tough season. With only 1 point from 19 games and a -93 goal difference, they are confirmed to finish at the bottom of the table.

POTENTIAL PLAY OFF ?????

With unconfirmed whispers of a potential play off in the air this could fling a life line to the third place team potentially Westhill, Camby FA or Rosebank and this could see them face Glasgow Ansar, Greater Croftpark Rose or Woodbank FC in a last day shoot out.

🔑 HUGHS FINAL VERDICT

Hugh’s Final verdict

The season boils down to Westhill United vs. Cambuslang FA.

Cambuslang have played fewer games, they still control their own destiny If they win their games in hand but the goal difference (currently +57 for Westhill vs +36 for Cambuslang) and that could become the deciding factor for the second promotion spot.

The clubs have still to play each other before the season ends so whoever wins that one will have a huge advantage in the race to the championship.
