Westhill United delivered a statement performance this week with a dominant 8–1 victory over Cathcart AFC in the Conference League.

This emphatic win sees Westhill United climb into 3rd place in the table, strengthening their push for promotion to the Championship. With momentum building at a crucial stage of the season, they are quickly becoming one of the form teams in the league.

Once again, Kyle MacDonald was the standout performer, netting a superb hat-trick and leading the line with confidence and quality. His consistency in front of goal is proving vital in Westhill’s promotion charge.

After the final whistle, manager Connor Moffat remained humble and respectful despite the convincing scoreline:

“First and foremost, credit to Cathcart. They kept going right until the end and showed great character, which I’ve got a lot of respect for.

From our side, I’m really pleased with the attitude and work rate. The boys approached the game the right way and stayed focused throughout. Scoring eight is obviously great, but what I liked most was the teamwork and how unselfish everyone was.

We won’t get carried away. It’s three points and we keep pushing. There’s still a lot of work to do if we want to achieve our goals this season.

And Kyle—he’s been excellent again, but he’ll be the first to tell you it’s a team effort. The lads are all pulling in the same direction right now, and that’s what matters most.”
