Another weekend, another batch of performances that ranged from “very tidy” to “someone check if he’s playing on beginner mode.” After much deliberation (and at least one imaginary VAR check), here’s this week’s Hugh Dunnit Team of the Week — strictly one per club, no favouritism… well, not much anyway.
🧤 Goalkeeper

Big saves at big moments — the kind that win games and earn handshakes from lads who usually only shout. When it mattered most, Noble stood tall and made sure his side took the points. Simple as that.
🛡️ Defenders

A MOTM performance that screamed “not today.” Rock solid, no nonsense, and about as welcoming as a locked door with no handle.

Full-back? Winger? Why not both. Defensively solid and electric going forward — took to his new role like he’s been playing it since primary school.

Back to his best and running the show from the back. Composed, reliable, and leading by example — the kind of defender you’d trust to organise a five-a-side or a wedding.

Simply outstanding. No frills, no fuss — just top-level defending that earned him MOTM and probably a few tired forwards questioning their life choices.
🎯 Midfielders

Goal and assist, but more importantly, he grabbed the game and dragged it his team’s way in the second half. Everywhere you looked — there he was.

Moved central, took control, and then decided to finish things off with a last-minute screamer. Because why not? Midfield general with a bit of flair.

Shifted out wide and didn’t just adapt — he thrived. Early goal, relentless pressure, and had defenders on the back foot all game. Not bad for a “change of position.”
⚽ Strikers

Didn’t need many chances — just took the ones he got with style. Clinical finishing and a reminder that sometimes less really is more… unless you’re a defender marking him.

Four goals. Four. At that point, it stops being a good game and starts being a personal highlight reel. Clinical, ruthless, and probably still could’ve had more.
🧠 Hugh’s Final Thought
Goals flying in, defenders putting in heroic shifts, and one or two players making this whole football thing look suspiciously easy. If this is the standard now, next weekend better bring snacks — we’re in for a show.
Until next time… keep it tidy at the back (or at least try).
