Two goals from Ryan Murney made the difference, but this came from how Corinthians approached it. They started quicker, won second balls, and took their chances. Against a side expected to control the game, they stayed organised and got the result.

THE GAFFER

Performances like that have been hard to come by this season so it was great to produce it in an important game against a team who have competed on all fronts for a few years now.

We defended brilliantly, had a threat on the counter and were decisive with our chances, despite having a few more that could have contributed to a real statement score.

It’s clear our league chances are slim to none now with the ground we have to make up in the remaining games, but the Bunrigh Cup gives us something to go after over the next month.

Pather in the semi-final will be a great challenge and I’d be delighted if we turn in a similar performance in that game.

🔥 Corinthians FC delivered a major result, beating one of the tournament favourites in AFC Chryston — and with that, it’s the Saturday morning sides setting the standard, with only one Saturday afternoon SPAFA team now left in the competition.
