Press for the January Conference Manager of the Month announcement https://footyfocus.org/2026/02/02/quiet-progress-clear-reward-conference-league-manager-of-the-month/
As part of our January awards, we’re giving each Manager of the Month the space to reflect on their month in their own words.
Rather than adding further analysis, these follow-up features focus on the moments, decisions, and standards that mattered — straight from the touchline.

First up is January’s Conference Manager of the Month, Kenzi Hill of LS Memorial.
On what changed most in January
January marked a clear shift in LS Memorial’s performances — from your point of view, what changed most within the group during that period?
The co-manager Jamie McKerracher and the captains really pushed standards — lads fighting for positions and keeping fit. That drive has been world class.”
Results against Bearsden and Queen’s Park stood out in January — what did those games tell you about how this group responds under pressure?
“It told us that under pressure we can still dig deep.
We ignored the outside noise and stayed focused on the game plan.”

This is your first season in management — what have you found most challenging when things don’t go to plan, and how have you approached those moments?
“It was always going to be tough.
The biggest thing has been figuring out, when it goes wrong, what do we change — and what do we do to get a better outcome.”
Looking back on January now, what gives you the most satisfaction as a manager?
“I’m most pleased that the lads are finding confidence and belief in their ability to compete with better opponents.”

A deserved recognition for a month of steady progress.
Well done to Kenzi Hill and everyone at LS Memorial.
