Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week to follow.

Goalkeepers

Big saves, big moments. The last line — and this week, the difference.

GK – Antou – Burnhill FC
Antou swept up well, organised the defence superbly and played out from the back well with a mix of long and short. Very solid performance.

GK – David kempton aka Simba – Busby AFC
Simba played very well throughout the 90 minutes and produced a few decent stops.

GK – Jack Maclennan – Glasgow Island
Jack was hugely important to the team and is right at the top of his game at the moment.
GK – Jamie O’Neill – Rossvale Huntershill
Jambo stepped up and played in goals for us as we had no keeper at the weekend. He was tremendous and helped us massively on our way to victory

Defenders

Position first, win your battles. Stop the game before it becomes a problem.

DEF – Luke Dempsey – Remo FC
Luke was outstanding at the weekend. It was his first start in a while, but he looked completely at ease — calm, composed on the ball, and in full control. He even topped it off with a goal and a well-deserved Man of the Match performance.
DEF – Shaun Noon – Busby AFC
Shaun was solid throughout the 90 minutes providing numerous crucial tackles and interceptions.
DEF – Stephen Barnes – Nethercraigs
Barnsey was instrumental in getting a clean sheet and had another top performance
DEF – Sam – Burnhill FC
Sam is one of Burnhill’s most improved players has grown and grown into his CB role and now looks well at home. Solid throughout and key to our clean sheet
DEF – Samora Malinki – Remo FC
Sammy was on top form again on Saturday and has been for the past few weeks now. He just keeps improving week by week and has really developed into a proper old-fashioned defender. He clears his lines when it matters and is always vocal on the pitch. He’s been nothing short of brilliant, and the improvement in his game has been phenomenal.
DEF – Drew Niven – Glasgow Island
centre defender  is unspectacular but has been really solid lately. Another excellent shift.
DEF – Davie Logan – Greater Croftpark Rose
Davie was solid all game long and really gave the Busby attackers a hard time.
DEF – Connor Moan – Remo FC
Connor had a cracking game at the weekend, scoring a brilliant solo goal — picking the ball up in his own half, skipping past a few players with a darting run, and calmly slotting it into the corner. He’s a real talent and an absolute rock in our defence.
DEF – Andrew Stokes- Westhill United
An absolute rock for us in recent weeks, brings a real leadership and experience to our side. Twice in as many weeks he’s been jus beat for MOTM, tactical voting will need to start soon 🤣
DEF – Luke McMullan – Nethercraigs
Luke has been in an unfamiliar full back role and has been doing great there and had another good performance.
DEF – Keiran Ward – Netherton AFC
Kevin provided an assured defensive display and also showed a real captains performance.
DEF – Adam Moore – Rossvale Huntershill
solid all round display and managed to get himself on the score sheet too
DEF – Max Lovie – River Nevis
Max was in an unusual position and he played absaloutly superb for the club.

Midfielders

Set the tempo, do the work, make things happen. The link between everything.

MID – Max – Burnhill FC
new role for Max and looked a natural, plenty of energy and quality play throughout. Key to Burnhill’s win.
MID – Brandon McAuley – Camby Milan
Another week another MOTM performance, controlled the game and always a threat in the final third
MID – Allan McCoo – Greater Croftpark Rose
The GCR midfielder produced one of his best performances of the season. He was absolutely solid in the heart of that midfield battle area.
MID -Sean Paul Spiers – River Nevis
Sean was superb all game long. The dynamic midfielder really drove the team on with his performance.
MID – Crawford Kenney – Glasgow Island
asked to move into a central defensive role and didn’t break sweat and a clean sheet was the reward.
MID – Danny Gilmartin – Camby FA
2 fantastic goals for the captain in saturday and he battled away brilliantly.
MID – Adam Clarke – Rosebank United
Composed in midfield and some pinpoint passes to set our wide men away. Set up our excellent 2nd goal.
MID – Tommy Duffy – Nethercraigs
The Nethercraigs centre mid was everywhere did a great job in the defensive mid role mopping everything up
MID – Connor Lynch – Rosebank United
Not everything clicked straight away but as usual, Connor came up with thr goods. Gave the full back a torrid time and scored a crucial 3rd goal.
MID – Darren Burns – Rossvale Huntershill
first start after recently joining us, carried the ball well and has frightening feet
MID – Lennon McGuinness – Netherton AFC
Lennon scored a fantastic goal and provided a superb assist. The winger provided effortless running throughout the game.

Forwards

Chances taken, pressure applied. The ones who turn games.

STR – Gary Arbuckle – Clydebank SMFC
Gaz proved the difference on Saturday with two well taken goals. A volley from a rebound off the bar and a near post finish from a tight angle

STR – Ben McAllister – River Nevis
Ben scored 2 great goals and provided a superb assist. The attacker was top drawer today.
STR – Graeme McCallum – Clydebank SMFC
Casa was his energetic self. Putting their defence through the wringer and not giving them a minute. Bagged a goal as well.
STR – Kyle MacDonald – Westhill United
Double, 2nd was cracking finish! Ever our talisman was sharp at the weekend. MOTM
STR – Vincent Gillespie – Camby Milan
Vinny worked extremely hard and bounced back after having a somewhat poor performance last week. Getting himself back on the scoresheet although all credit goes to Brandon for both goals.

No noise, no overcomplication — just recognition.

Week after week, this league shows why it’s historic, competitive, and still setting standards now. Different clubs, different moments, same demand — deliver for your team.

That’s the level
