Five new teams have been confirmed for the GDSFC ahead of the 2026/27 season.

That update comes via Nim — and it’s a clear sign the league numbers are going up again.

The clubs joining are:

⚽️ Bardykes Rovers

⚽️ Coatbridge Cowboys

⚽️ Fully Rovers AFC

⚽️ Greens AFC

⚽️ Kirkintilloch Athletic

That’s five additions confirmed at this stage.

There’s also more in the background.

Discussions are ongoing with other sides, including potential start-up teams, so that number could increase before the new season begins.

From a sideline view, the key detail is simple — the league is expanding.

What that looks like in practice comes later.

More teams usually means:

More fixtures to schedule and changes to how divisions are structured

None of that is confirmed yet.

Right now, it’s about the numbers.

Five are in.

And there may be more to follow.

The numbers are increasing, and the structure will adjust to match — that’s part of running a modern league properly.

New teams bring new players, new grounds, and a different feel to the divisions. That’s something every league needs over time.

From a sideline point of view, it gives more to see and more reasons to get out on a Sunday.

That’s what next season starts to offer.
