Clyde valley Rovers continued their hectic start to the season as they faced Glasgow on The Ball at Toryglen.
Rovers went into the game with full confidence after their superb showing last Friday as the beat Burnhill FC 6-1 at Ibrox Palace Of Arts.

On a bitterly cold Friday night at Toryglen, CVR dug deep to claim a dramatic 3–2 victory over Glasgow On The Ball in a match full of momentum swings, grit, and late drama.
The opening stages were cagey, with little to separate the sides in the first 10 minutes. Both teams probed without creating clear chances, but the game soon opened up into a fast-paced, end-to-end battle.
CVR Were handed a bitter blow when right winger Ross was forced off after 11 minutes with a calf injury.

Glasgow On The Ball threatened first with a dangerous ball in behind, forcing a great save from the CVR goalkeeper to keep things level. However, the deadlock was broken in frustrating fashion for CVR—slackness from a throw-in allowed GOB to intercept and convert, punishing the lapse ruthlessly. 1-0 GOB
CVR responded with intent. Cowie delivered a teasing cross that Keith narrowly missed, before another excellent ball into the box saw Gary’s header drift just wide. The pressure was building. A brilliant delivery from John then forced a top-class save from the GOB number one, who tipped it onto the post.
The equaliser finally arrived when John flicked the ball on perfectly for Duncy, who finished with confidence to make it 1–1 going into half-time.
Half-Time: GOB 1–1 CVR
The second half began with more drama. Glasgow On The Ball nearly regained the lead with a pinpoint cross, but their striker somehow headed over from close range when it looked easier to score.

CVR immediately hit back with a sharp attacking move, though Keith’s effort was straight at the keeper. Chances kept coming—Keith again turned provider with a dangerous cross that Kev sent just wide, while John struck the bar after another incisive pass through the defence.
But CVR were made to pay for mistakes at the back. A moment of slack play from Alex gifted GOB the opportunity to strike, and they made no mistake, restoring their lead at 2–1.
The GOB goalkeeper began to play his part in slowing the game down, going to ground multiple times as his side tried to protect their advantage. But CVR refused to be denied.

Around the 70-minute mark, a well-worked move saw Kev cut the ball back into the box, where Scott Sneddon (Snid) was perfectly placed to tap home the equaliser—2–2, and game on.
Moments later, the match took another twist as goalscorer Scott Sneddon was harshly shown a second yellow card, reducing CVR to 10 men. What followed was a display of resilience and determination, as CVR reshaped and battled fiercely to stay in the contest.
Then came a moment of magic
With time almost up, Kev showed superb control to bring down a through ball and drive toward goal. Just as he looked set to round the keeper, he was clipped from behind.
Penalty to CVR.
Kev stepped up himself—and buried it with authority. No chance for the keeper. 3–2.
Full-Time: GOB 2–3 CVR
The Verdict
CVR never truly found their rhythm, but their character and determination shone through. Even with 10 men, they pushed forward fearlessly—and were rewarded. Fortune favours the brave, and CVR earned every bit of this hard-fought victory.
Man of the Match
Keith Maxwell delivered a standout performance, dominating midfield with relentless energy, tough tackling, and a presence that covered every blade of the Toryglen surface.
