Weekend Preview: A Big Saturday Ahead in the SPAFA GCFA Saturday Morning Section.

The season is moving into a decisive stage, with points becoming increasingly important across the divisions. This Saturday’s fixture list brings several matches that could influence both the title races and the battle at the lower end of the tables.

Here is your quick-fire guide to the action.

THE PREMIER LEAGUE ⬇️

Fixtures 14th March

Park Sports Project hold a 5-point lead at the Top of the table, but the chasing pack is congested.

• The Main Event: Nethercraigs AFC vs Glasgow Island. Second plays third, with both sides level on 28 points. A win for either team strengthens their position as the closest challenger to Park Sports Project, while a draw could allow the leaders to extend their advantage at the top.

• Keep an Eye on: Corinthians vs Bishopton. Corinthians are sitting 5th but have games in hand that could see them rocket up the table. They’ll be heavy favorites against a struggling Bishopton side.

The Championship : The Race to the Top

RHU Colts currently sit in the driver’s seat with 34 points, but they can’t afford a slip-up. They face a middle-of-the-pack Southside United side that has proven they can be stubborn defensively.

Game to Watch: PGBC Amateurs vs Third Lanark Amateurs. This is a massive “six-pointer.” PGBC are the most efficient team in the league, sitting 4th with several games in hand. If they win here against 3rd-place Third Lanark, they become the clear favorites to hunt down the leaders.

The Struggle: At the other end, DTI are still searching for their first point after 18 games. They host Netherton, who will be looking to capitalize and climb away from the bottom three.

Conference League: Can Anyone Catch Remo FC?

Remo FC are the undisputed kings of the Conference League right now—unbeaten in 14 games with a massive +32 goal difference.

• The Challenge: They travel to Westhill United AFC, who sit in 4th. Westhill actually has the best attack in the league (61 goals), so this is the ultimate “unstoppable force vs. immovable object” matchup.

Promotion Battle: River Nevis (2nd) and Cambuslang FA (3rd) are separated by just one point. While River Nevis rests this week, Cambuslang travels to LS Memorial knowing a win puts them into the silver medal spot.

Feb 28th updated table

Four seasons of watching this league and the pattern remains the same. Titles decided late, promotion races that run right to the end, and fixtures every Saturday that actually matter.

The Glasgow Colleges FA remains one of the most historic, competitive and thriving amateur leagues in the country — and weekends like this are exactly why.
