Hugh Dunnit — Team of the Week (4-3-3)
Four seasons in and the nominations keep proving the same thing — clubs know exactly who stepped up when the pressure was on.
This week’s selections come from cup football, where moments decide everything. Saves, clearances, goals and decisions that kept teams alive or sent them through.
No opinions, no hype. Just the players whose actions helped their teams win the tie.

Hugh Dunnit — Team of the Week (4-3-3)
Goalkeeper

David Kempton — Busby AFC
Late fitness test on Friday, then saves two penalties to send Busby through. That’s a keeper deciding a cup tie.

Defence
RB — Kyle McKay (Rosebank United)
Covered both full-back roles and scored from a free kick. Proper shift for the team.
RCB — Sam McAvoy (Westhill United)
Captain’s performance. Held the line while Westhill turned a two-goal deficit into a win.
CB – Ben McKenzie (Greater Croftpark Rose)
The centre back was at the top of his game on Saturday which really helped stop the very dangerous PGBC attack.
LB — Christian Barcz (Bishopton FC)
Solid throughout. Clear decisions, good use of the ball, and no fuss at the back.

Midfield
DM — Alessandro Taouss (Westhill United)
Drove Westhill forward all game. Took the ball in tight areas and carried the fight.
CM — Brandon McAuley (Camby Milan)
Goal and three assists in the first half. Game settled early because of him.
AM — Chris Wilson (Third Lanark)
Two goals and the difference in the final third.

Attack
RW — Ethan Furze (Bishopton FC)
Involved in all three goals. Movement and composure when chances came.
ST — Kyle Macdonald (Westhill United)
Two goals and an assist. Centre-forward doing the job.
LW — Ciaran McFadden (QPSFC)
Came off the bench and forced penalties with a late goal. Then stepped up and scored

Eleven players. Eleven moments that mattered.
Cup football doesn’t care about reputation — only who delivers when the game is on the line.
No buzzwords, no shortcuts — just lads doing it right. That’s Scottish amateur football as Hugh sees it.
