Why He’s Our Manager of the Week

After a tough season Rosebank have been starting to get themselves back to the kind of form that really made them a dangerous team to play against.

Conference League Rosebank United really stepped up on Saturday and put Cathcart AFC to the sword by beating them 5-1.

The Result

The United gaffer certainly deserves to be our manager of the week as he showed on Saturday that when he has the correct tools then he can’t get the correct results.

At this stage of the season, February is about statements.

Rosebank United

Rosebank United produced one of the Conference League’s standout results this weekend, defeating Cathcart AFC 5–1 as they continue to work through a disrupted fixture schedule.

GCFA Manager of the Week

This has been probably our most disjointed season since joining the league. I think we’ve maybe played 2 games back to back only twice this season, with cup ties and weather getting in the way. We are way behind in games played and throw into the mix a lack of numbers due to various reasons.

So Saturday was a satisfying victory as we were again stretched for resources. A tricky surface but both teams went at it from the start. Cathcart scored early from a corner but we didn’t fold and worked our way back into the game, going 2-1 up just before half time.

Cathcart’s task had become trickier to be fair due to a red card and we made this pay in the 2nd half. Some good passing and finishing led to a comfortable 5-1 lead and the game was done. I was grateful for the cushion as once again I had to make an emergency 5 minute appearance as the last of 3 subs! But the boys had put a shift in and hopefully we can now at least get a run of games to avoid us playing till August!
