Another Saturday round of GCFA fixtures done — and the nominations tell the story again.

Goalkeepers decide points in February.

One save. One moment. One calm head when the game’s on a knife-edge.

GK – Aiden McIlwaine – Lokomotiv 
Big lurch the daft goalie was superb, commanding the area and being vocal, but a crucial pen save in the second half kept lokos lead and kept momentum.
GK – Owen Coyle – Port Glasgow BC
Owen produced Some really good saves and extremely unlucky not to get a clean sheet at the death.

Defenders set the tone in February.

Headers won, gaps covered, talking constantly — the work that keeps teams in control.


DEF – Samora Malinki – Remo FC
Samora was brilliant at the weekend winning all his defence duels and was a real rock at the back. Earned a well deserved MOTM
DEF – Mark Murney – Corinthians 
Mark started at right back and was moved to centre back, after Tyler went off injured. Mark would quite literally run through a wall for the team, so it was great to see him scoring the equaliser to get us a point.
DEF – Josh Mack – LS Memorial
Josh has been in and out the squad but got his well earned start on Saturday and grabbed it with both hands. The defender won every header and was all over the park chasing through balls and controlling the back line with good communication and leadership.
DEF – Sam Cove – River Nevis
Sam was the clubs man of the match on Saturday and was a thorn in the side of the Cathcart AFC strikers.
DEF – Kev Harrity Southside United
A solid display at centre back from the captain, just back from injury and marked his return with a brilliant volley.
DEF – Kieran McCallion – Clydebank SMFC
Kieran was moved into the midfield to give us a bit of cover. He did his job defending but also got an assist to top of a great performance.
DEF – Jack taylor – Camby Milan
Jack has been out with an injury the last couple weeks and he showed his grit to come back into a big game like this and not put a foot wrong all game. The full back put on a defensive masterclass limiting any chances created by the toryglen winger, solid performance putting his body on the line. 
DEF – Jake Wilson Glasgow Island
A big performance from Jake on Saturday against Knightswood AFC. The classy player shows his versatility every week and is an important member of the squad.
DEF – Kenzie McCarron  – Clydeside Athletic Kenzie was solid in defence winning every header and tackle and rarely losing a ball. He showed his versatility stepped into midfield when needed in the latter stages of the game
DEF – Jay Proctor- Ls Memorial
Jay was superb at the weekend, winning everything that came his way. He did a fantastic job keeping Burnhill’s talented striker quiet and continues to prove what a real asset he is to the team. Jay has been consistently delivering brilliant performances all season and has even chipped in with a few goals as well. A top performer week in, week out.
DEF – Jordan Kennedy – Corinthians
 Our captain had another outstanding game against a strong PSP front line. His timing and reading of the game are second to none.
DEF – Charlie Mckerracher –
LS Memorial first game for us on Saturday absolutely brilliant 2 screamers to put us infront and Barry ballentyne been playing well going forward he was the lwb against yous who missed a few good chances from driving in boys been class.

Midfielders set the rhythm in February.

Win it. Keep it. Play the right pass. Do it again.

MID – David Hain – Clydeside Athletic 
Hainy constantly ran up and down the line, won every challenge and created chances with crosses into the box, topped off performance with a great header to put us 2-1 up
MID – Kit Cummins – Busby AFC
The big man has brung some much need experience to our squad using all his experience from his time in the juniors. Kit Played outstanding on sat and helped us to a good win
MID – Robbie Whyte – Glasgow Island
Robbie was the most composed player on the park for his club, he got on the ball and made things happen.
MID – Ciaran Gilzean – Bishopton
Gizzy was outstanding in the middle of the pitch he took ownership of the captaincy and lead by example contributing with 2 goals into the bargain a really solid all round performance

MID – Kevin McFarlane – Rutherglen Glencairn AFC
kev was superb all game long and the midfielder found time to score an absolute quality goal.
MID – Barry Ballantyne – LS Memorial
Barry been working hard to get back into the team and been our best playing creating chances and getting a few assists and taking captancy at times and playing out position.
MID – Kieran Tidser – Netherton AFC
Three goals and an assist and MOTM from the midfield magician, Kieran really makes his team tick when he’s on this form.

Mid – Jack McAllister – River Nevis

Jack scored two very important goals for his team on Saturday and he was a catalyst for the team’s big win.

MID – Aidan McNeil – Clydeside Athletic
Aiden worked very hard in the engine room and rarely gave away the ball. The midfielder was involved in all 3 goals. Solid performance and man of the match for his team.
MID – Darren Stevenson JNR – PGBC
A Mature performance from the young midfielder who keeps getting better and better each game he plays.

MID – Aedan Dunne – Netherton AFC

Aedan controlled the game throughout the 90 minutes, His touch and passing ability were a joy to watch.

MID – John Conlin – Southside United
John was simply stunning on Saturday, the midfield dynamo is the Southside United Kante. Johny was tenacious and fought for every single ball.
MID – Steven Wilson – River Nevis
Steven scored an absolute worldie and put in a great performance throughout the 90 minutes
MID – Brandon McAuley – Camby Milan
Brandon was another one just back from an injury found himself straight in the starting 11 causing problem after problem for the toryglen midfield, who just couldn’t deal with him, ran himself into the ground for 60 minutes, the highlight of his performance was abit of brilliance to score a backheel into the Torygken keeper who was left helpless.
MID – Dean Patrick – Remo FC
Dean slotted straight into our midfield and delivered a fantastic performance against Burnhill, winning the ball and clearing up everything in the middle of the park. Having recently made the move from Paisley Dinamo, Dean has already shown the great attributes he brings to the squad. A first start and plenty more to come.
MID – Danny Gilmartin – Camby FA
Danny has showing alot of quality in the last few games and he getting in on the goals and being very consistent
MID – Ben Dickson – Bishopton FC
Ben played a massive part in getting us back into the game we were 3-1 down and Bens willingness to press and make it difficult for Rossvale’s midfield and defence was to be admired from the side. It’s great to see him back playing to his potential after a long lay off through injuries.
MID – Chrissy McNeil – Camby Milan
Chrissy has been off the boil last few weeks however on saturday he was incredible, The Toryglen fullbacks are still trying to chase him around just now. The winger worked extremely hard for the team for the full 90, winning a crucial penalty at an important time of the game and in true chrissy fashion missed an absolute sitter but the 2 assists will have to do this week. A truly outstanding performance from the big man.
MID – Steven Christie – CAMBY FA
showing his quality again in the midfield from starting attacks and always getting on the ball spraying passes, scored a fantastic goal to cap off a good performance
MID – Sean McManus – Lokomotiv
 An assist for the third, but Sean’s contribution was all over the pitch, playing through midfield as well as being a midfield engine tracking runs and doing his defensive duties
MID – Connor docherty – Busby AFC
Connor, instrumental in our fight back from our shakey start. Connor was relentless in his performance scoring 3 goals Outstanding performance.

Forwards turn pressure into outcomes in February.

Movement, timing, and finishing when chances are rare.

STR – Willie Stalker – Rutherglen Glencairn AFC Three goals and an all round top performance from Stalker on Saturday.
STR – Steven McCabe – Netherton AFC
Steven helped himself to a goal and 3 assists, A very good morning’s work for the striker.
STR – Ryan Metcalfe – Southside United
Ryan was quiet all game but does what he does best and pops up with a very important goal to give his team the lead.
STR – Jamie Curran – Port Glasgow BC
Three goals and an assist for the PGBC Captain. When Jamie plays like this he becomes a vital component for his club.
STR – Vincent Gillespie – Camby Milan
A first half hatrick, an immense first 45 minutes causing problems for the full toryglen backline! His outstanding first half showing then carried into the 2nd half working hard for the team and always looking a threat. Vinny could have had a couple more goals if the right decision was made but 3 goals in a big fixture more than sealed the MOTM award.
STR – Gary Arbuckle – Clydebank SMFC
Gaz was at his clinical best on Saturday. Got us off the mark and got another 2 to complete his hat trick 
STR – Kenny MacSween – Lokomotiv 
An assist in the opening minutes and then a sweeping half volley goal in the first half helped lokos take a 2-0 lead. Superb game from the winger.
STR – Fraser Moreton – Busby AFC
Fraser was brilliant on Saturday his work effort was second to none and he is slowly coming back to his best from recent injury
STR – Vlad – Park Sports Project
 Vlad was Involved in both goals. The creative player delivered the assist for the opener and created the second with a direct run and square pass. Consistently advanced down the right and carried attacking threat throughout.
STR – Mark Johnston – Camby FA
2 goals and an assist for mark, hes starting banging the goals in and hes becoming a bug player for us.
STR – Aidan Gallagher — Park Sports Project
 Big Gal scored the first and remained a constant outlet up front despite heavy attention from defender.
