Rutherglen Glencairn AFC booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 4–1 win.

Rutherglen started quickly and took control early, immediately putting Roselle on the back foot. The early pressure paid off when Kev McFarlane, with a cheeky chip, claimed the opening goal from Jay’s pinpoint long throw. A fantastic start that set the tone for the half!

were too strong in the first half, with Stalker proving to be an unstoppable force. his pace caused problems all afternoon. He consistently found himself in behind, converting an incredible four chances, though one was controversially chalked off for a dubious offside call by the referee.

Nevertheless, Rutherglen headed into half-time with a comfortable and well-deserved 4-0 lead.

The second half saw Roselle predictably try to find a way back into the game, and they did create a couple of good chances. However, Ben, Rutherglen’s excellent goalkeeper, was on hand to deny them with some superb saves.

Roselle did manage to pull one back with a wonder goal, making it 4-1, but by truth be told, Rutherglen had numerous opportunities to further extend their lead in the second half. Ultimately, their experience shone through as they expertly saw out the game.
