First-Half Frustration

The hosts looked sharp from the opening whistle but initially found the Cathcart defence — and woodwork — standing firm. Two early efforts struck the frame of the goal, while the visiting keeper was forced into a series of saves to keep the scores level.

The breakthrough finally arrived when in-form striker Jack McAllister reacted quickest after his own header cannoned off the bar, rifling home the rebound to continue his hot streak — now three goals in two matches.

Yet against the run of play, Cathcart grabbed a leveller just before half-time, sending the teams into the interval locked at 1–1 and briefly halting Nevis momentum.

Second-Half Surge

Whatever was said in the Nevis dressing room had the desired effect. Within six minutes of the restart, McAllister struck again, finishing clinically into the bottom corner to restore the lead.

From that point, the match belonged to the talismanic Wilson. The Nevis favourite produced the standout moment of the afternoon, unleashing a thunderous first-time volley into the roof of the net to make it 3–1 and ignite the home support.

Recent signing Sam Bennett added further gloss to the scoreline with a driven low finish after bursting into the box. Wilson then capped a Man-of-the-Match display in the closing moments, powering home a header from a pinpoint delivery by Spiers to complete the five-star showing.
