For four seasons, we’ve covered the Glasgow Colleges Football Association — the fixtures, the cup runs, the early Saturday kick-offs, and the standards that built its reputation across the city.

As structural changes continue within the amateur game under the Scottish Premier Amateur Football Association, one thing remains clear: the Glasgow Colleges name carries history.

That history doesn’t disappear because formats evolve.

Below is Castlemilk Community’s club statement in full.

We are thrilled to announce that Castlemilk Community FC will be transitioning from the Glasgow and District Sunday Football League (GDSFC) to the Scottish Premier Amateur Football Association (SPAFA) Morning Section for the upcoming season.
This move represents a significant step forward for our club, allowing us to compete at a higher level and continue building on our proud community roots in Castlemilk. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the GDSFC for their unwavering support over the years.
The league has been instrumental in our development, providing a competitive and welcoming environment that has helped shape our team and foster lasting friendships. We wish the GDSFC and all its member clubs every success in the future—may you continue to thrive and inspire grassroots football across Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
As we prepare for this exciting transition, we are actively seeking new players to strengthen our squad. If you’re a talented footballer passionate about community football and ready to take on the challenges of the SPAFA Morning Section,
we encourage you to get in touch via our social media pages.

Leagues restructure. Clubs move. That’s part of football.

But the Glasgow Colleges identity has decades behind it — titles won, rivalries played, cups lifted on cold mornings.

Whatever the banner reads next season, the standards that built the Colleges name are still there.

And as long as those standards are there, the history is still thriving.
