Saturday Standards continue into February — and the nominations reflect where the season is now.

Margins are tighter, decisions matter more, and the work done across the pitch is starting to add up.

This is the clubs’ view of who stood out: impact moments, responsibility, and jobs done when games needed control.

Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week to follow.

Goalkeepers

When games tighten up, goalkeepers decide who stays in control.

GK – Aidan Mcllwane – Lokomotiv
A great assist from between the sticks and some key saves at pivotal moments in the game.

Defenders

Organisation, communication, and doing the hard bits properly.

Cammy Quinn – Cambuslang FA
Cammy played very well, was really good defensively, solid in a tackle. Was a leader in the defence.
DEF – Finlay Anderson – Glasgow Island
another superb showing at the back. Deserved to be on the winning team
DEF – Dale Mullen – PGBC
Dale produced a dominant performance at the back before moving into midfield.
DEF – Fin Dunne – River Nevis
Fine was superb all game long. He even found time to produce a goal line clearance in the last minute.
DEF – Stephen Barnes – Nethercraigs
Barnsey’s first full 90 mins for us since his return and his performance in the 2nd half at centre half guaranteed us a place in the next round
DEF – David Connolly – Rhu Colts
Filling in at LB from his usual position on the wing didnt appear to be a problem for David. Capped of a terrific game with two cracking goals
Sam Cove – River Nevis
Sam was absolutely solid throughout the game and then even went into CM to dominate final 10 mins of the match.
DEF – Paul Cavana – RHU COLTS
Another player who was in an unfamiliar position not that you’d notice. Terrific at the back, showing his experience throughout.
DEF – Cammy Lakin – lokomotiv
Won everything in the air, limiting the opposition chances. Floated in at the back post to get a deserved goal to top off a great performance.
Martin McIntyre – Clydebank SMFC
Marty has been colossal lately. Dominant in the air which makes him a handful in both boxes. 2 goals and an assist at the weekend
Def – Jordan Grant – PSP
Real captains performance from Jordan. Not his natural position at centre half but fills in there so well and was vital in keeping the islands attackers at bay.
DEF – Kevin Gallagher – Clydeside Athletic
Clydeside’s overlapping centre half played three or four positions in the game and was class at everyone of them. Kev popped up at the back post with a goal.

Midfielders

Midfield is where games start to take shape.

MID – Lewis Hobbs – Third Lanark AFC
4 assists on sat all coming in the second half. Some excellent passing and always available for the ball to move forward
MID – Ross Easton – Clydebank SMFC
Ross was very dangerous from the midfield and his delivery from corners resulted in a number of goals. Bagged one himself and assisted another 2
MID – Sean Paul Spiers – River Nevis
Sean scored two goals and provided an assist for his team mate from the Centre Mid area.
MID – Jason Fyfe – Lokomotiv
Jason worked Tirelessly in the middle and showed beautiful feet to make his screamer from 30yards.

MID – Angus Macdonald – Glasgow Island
extremely unlucky to have a goal chopped off for an infringement only the referee seemed to see. Huge performance.

MID – Adam Daniel – RHU COLTS
The calming influence in the middle of the park. Always available to help out his teammates with his positioning in the game
MID – Liam McGinnity – Nethercraigs
the Nethercraigs centre mid added a lot of bite and managed to pop up with 2 goals one right after half time that sparked our comeback.
MID – Danny Gilmartin – Cambuslang FA
scored a very important equaliser, great first touch and finish, throughout the game very important.
MID – Harry Clark – Clydeside Athletic
Came on 2nd half and changed the game for us. Settled us down, played passes at right time. Composure.
MID – John Williamson – Cathcart AFC
Johny made his first start for the Cart in central midfield and delivered a very strong performance. He worked tirelessly in the middle of the park, winning the ball back consistently and doing the dirty work that often goes unnoticed. Strong in his aerial duels and disciplined throughout, he gave the team real balance and set the tone with his work rate and commitment.

MID – Seoras – Burnhill FC
Another standout performance from Burnhills all rounder. Dictated the play, won towering headers, crunching tackles, and spurred on others with his leadership.

MID – Lee Anderson – Cathcart AFC
put in another standout performance in central midfield on Saturday, continuing his consistently high standards. He was excellent both off the ball and on it, doing the dirty work by winning possession back and then driving the team forward with smart use of the ball. His constant communication and leadership in the middle of the park helped keep the team organised and ticking throughout the game.
Mark Smith – Greater Croftpark Rose
Mark was excellent in the engine room for his team. The midfielder covered every blade of grass and gave everything for the badge.
MID – Paul Leonard – Clydebank SMFC
Playing a bit further up the park at weekend and Lenny took full advantage. 2 goals and 2 assists for him
MID – Kyle Cameron – Knightswood AFC
Couple assists as he moved to right wing. Energy was outstanding all day
MID – Eddie Ferns – Corinthians
Player and fans favourite, Eddie Ferns has re signed with the Corinthians and is already making an impact with his attacking runs. The oldest player at the Corinthians but he has the engine of a 21 year old.

MID – Jay Nelson – Toryglen Thistle
Three goals from the attacking midfielder and a big game performance.

MID – Liam ruddy – Port Glasgow BC
A constant threat down the right hand side, The Southside left back will be happy he wont he seeing liam for a while.
MID- Michael – Burnhill FC
Michael delivered pace, vision and deft touches to the Burnhill midfield, picking up a great assist and regularly creating opportunities with his dribbling and quick passing.
MID – Lewis Nally – Cathcart AFC
Mally put in an impressive performance at left wing back on Saturday, capping it off with a goal and an assist. He caused constant problems down the flank, doing particularly well to get the ball out wide and take defenders on in 1v1 situations. His energy and decision-making in the final third were key, and his contributions played a big part in the team’s attacking threat throughout the game.

MID – Andy Marley – Third Lanark AFC
Hat trick of goals and MOTM on sat, more like the andy of old driving at defenders and getting on the end of crosses to finish.

Forwards

Movement, timing, and being ready when the moment comes.

STR – Jamie Curran – PGBC
Jamie was our MOTM on Saturday and he scored two great goals. The skipper was a thorn in the side of Southside United.
STR – Johnny Donald – Nethercraigs
Johnny stepped up with a captains performance winning the penalty and scoring the last 2 goals to put us through
STR – Stef McLaren – Corinthians
Stef joined the Corinthians this year and has made an impact in games. On Saturday he came off the bench and scored a cracking back post header.
STR – Mo Bengjellabe – Greater Croftpark Rose
Mo was a handful for the opposition defenders all game long. the attacker scored a great goal and set up another.
STR – Chrissy Shields – PSP
Another fine performance. Attacking flare, couple of good runs. Couple of chances, and a great goal. Much more controlled this week.
STR – John Burnside – Clydeside Athletic
Johny used his experience up top unbelievably well. The big man held the ball up and brought others into play. Two great goals with one of those being a sublime chip.
STR – Ruairidh MacGregor – Toryglen Thistle
A double for the attacker and an all round good performance helping his club to go on and dominate the game.
STR – Gregor Lopez – Third Lanark AFC
Four goals on sat to add to his impressive tally as a midfielder. Filled in at striker well, kept creating chances in and around the box.
STR – Greg Halkett – Corinthians
Super sub Halks came off the bench and scored one, and had an assist with the second.
