Another huge weekend of GCFA football — goals flying in, games swinging on moments, and players stepping up when the pressure was highest. This league doesn’t do quiet Saturdays. It’s competitive, unforgiving, and stacked with quality from top to bottom — and this week was another reminder of why the GCFA sets the standard for Saturday morning football.

Across the fixtures, plenty impressed. But four performances cut through everything else. Not just good displays — statements.

STR – Jamie Curran – PGBC
The skipper led from the front with a proper centre-forward’s display. Two excellent goals, constant pressure on the back line and a real thorn in Southside United’s side all afternoon. Big-game performance from a big-game player.
Martin McIntyre – Clydebank SMFC
Colossal is the word. Dominant in the air at both ends of the park, Marty bagged two goals and an assist, making him a nightmare for the opposition. A defender who changes games.
MID – Lewis Hobbs – Third Lanark
Four assists. All in the second half. Total control. Hobbs was the engine behind a devastating spell of football, constantly available and always moving the ball forward with purpose. A creative masterclass.
Str – Gregor Lopez – Third Lanark
Four goals from a midfielder filling in up top says it all. Movement, composure, and relentless presence in and around the box. Kept creating chances and finished them with confidence.

👀 Who gets your vote?

Four players. Four elite performances. This is the GCFA at its best — demanding games, high tempo, and players who can decide matches when margins are tight. Quality like this isn’t accidental. It’s built week after week in the most competitive and historic Saturday morning league around.
