We caught up with the man of the moment and he had the following to say ⬇️

“We were pleased with the response after last week’s defeat. We knew it was going to be a tough game against Port Glasgow and it was important we started well. First half I thought we were excellent — really organised, controlled the game well, took our chances and limited them to very little, so to go in 2–0 up at half-time was deserved.

“Second half we didn’t start well at all and full credit to Port Glasgow — they came flying out the blocks and were well on top early on. Going behind obviously rocked us and the game then became a bit scrappy, with lots of breaks in play, which allowed us to regroup.

“Once we got back on the front foot, we made the most of our chances and defended our box superbly during periods of pressure. I was delighted with the character the lads showed, the quality of the goals and the impact from the bench, which really highlighted the importance of having depth throughout the squad.

“All in all it was two good footballing teams going at it in a competitive match and a real advert for the league. It was an important bounce back for us.

“Now we need to stay focused and prepare properly again. Greater Croftpark Rose are the visitors on Saturday and they’re a good side in strong form, so we know they’ll be organised and determined.”
