Weekend Preview: Conference Fixtures Return as the Table Tightens
The Conference League resumes this weekend with fixtures spread across the table, as teams start to get rid of the ring rust.

This Week’s fixture
THE LEAGUE TABLE

After years of following the GCFA week in, week out, Hugh Dunnit brings his take on today’s fixtures. These predictions aren’t about form charts or guesswork — just experience, league knowledge, and how games like these usually play out on a Saturday morning.
Fixtures
Burnhill FC V Bearsden

Battle for the Podium: Burnhill vs. Bearsden AFC
Third-place Burnhill look to solidify their spot in the top three as they host basement-dwellers Bearsden AFC.
It has been a grueling campaign for Bearsden, who sit at the bottom with just one point and a -63 goal difference.
For Burnhill, this is a “must-win” to stay within touching distance of the leaders.
Hugh’s Prediction – Burnhill FC 5 Bearsden AFC 1
LS Memorial v River Nevis

Mid-Table Tussles
A classic mid-table battle. River Nevis currently sit in 4th, but having played 14 games, they are at risk of being overtaken by teams with games in hand.
LS Memorial will be looking to bounce back from seven losses and climb toward the top half.
Hugh’s Prediction – LS Memorial 2 River Nevis 3
Westhill United v Queens Park SFC

The Main Event: Westhill United AFC vs. Queen’s Park SFC
With Remo FC out of action, all eyes turn to second-place Westhill United. Averaging a staggering five goals per game, Westhill is the division’s most clinical side.
They face a resilient Queen’s Park SFC squad that has played more games than anyone else in the top five.
Queen’s Park will need to tighten a defense that has leaked 35 goals if they hope to stop the Westhill juggernaut.
Hugh’s Prediction – Westhill United 4 Queens Park SFC 1
Glasgow Medics V Banknock FC

The “Wall” meets the “Wanderers.”
The Medics have one of the sturdier defensive records in the bottom half, while Banknock search for only their second league win of the season to escape the relegation shadow.
Hugh’s Prediction – Glasgow Medics 2 Banknock 2
Rosebank United v Cathcart AFC

Rosebank are the league’s “dark horse,” sitting in 8th but having played only 8 matches. If they win their games in hand, they are genuine promotion challengers.
Rosebank face a Cathcart side that scores plenty (39 goals) but struggles to keep them out (50 conceded).
Hugh’s Prediction – Rosebank United 3 Cathcart AFC 2
