The race for the Hills Solicitors Colleges Championship heats up this Saturday as third-place Third Lanark Amateurs host Woodbank AFC.
The league table points one way, but Woodbank arrive having already beaten Third Lanark this season — a result that suggests the bookmakers may have this priced tighter than expected.
The Form Guide: Momentum vs. Inconsistency
Third Lanark enter this fixture as the bookmakers’ clear favorites, boasting an impressive run of four wins from their last five outings.
Sitting comfortably in 3rd place with 17 points, they’ve proven to be one of the most clinical sides in the division this season, dropping points in only three of their first eight matches.
In contrast, Woodbank AFC has struggled to find a rhythm. Currently languishing in 10th place, they’ve managed just two wins from seven games. Their recent form—two wins and three losses in their last five—suggests a side that has been inconsistent across the opening part of the season.
The “Bogey Team” Factor
Despite the gap in the standings, the previous meeting offers Woodbank encouragement.
The sides met in the Bunrigh League Cup back in August, with Woodbank edging a 3–2 win in a closely fought cup tie.
Woodbank had Hayden McCormack to thank as he scored an unstoppable free kick which helped seal the victory.

Third Lanark come into this one looking to respond after defeat against Busby AFC, with their league position giving them a solid platform going into the weekend. The bookmakers may have them as favourites, and they do arrive with more points on the board, but the earlier cup meeting shows Woodbank are capable of making this uncomfortable if chances are taken
