Rather than dressing it up, the club kept their reflections simple — a few words per prompt, straight to the point. What follows is Burnhill in their own voice: the moment that shifted belief, the standards being set inside the squad, and where the focus lies when football resumes after the festive break.
Season so far:
After an underwhelming start, Burnhill are starting to pick up steam, with some high scoring wins in the league!
Standout Moment
Coming back from 0-3 down against a talented and determined Medics team to win 4-3 was a huge moment for the group and gave us a lot of confidence.
Stepped up
While I think all parts of the team are playing a part in the early success, overall I would say improved player leadership has been key. Obvious examples like Nelson, Hakeem, Johan, and Antou have always set standards but it’s great to see a new generation of players step up and hold themselves and each other accountable.
After festive break Goal
Burnhill will be working to continue its progress off the pitch, through fundraising, community organising, and social outreach to maximise the impact of the club and the use the power of football for good across Glasgow.
There’s no sense here of a club chasing noise or quick wins. The emphasis is on leadership, accountability, and using momentum responsibly — on and off the pitch.
Burnhill’s answers don’t try to sell a story. They show a group that’s learned from its early weeks and is now putting structure around its ambition. The second half of the season will test that progress — but the direction, at least, is clear.
