Out with the old and in with the new

The winter break offers a natural moment to take stock of change rather than mark its timing.

For Clydeside Athletic, that change has come through a significant shift in personnel, as one long-standing figure moves on and a familiar face returns with a different role to play as the Premier League season continues.

OUT WITH THE OLD: The Maestro Moves On

For several seasons, Jordan Gilchrist was a central figure in the Clydeside Athletic midfield, playing a key role during one of the club’s most successful periods. Operating primarily through the middle of the park, he was known for dictating tempo and contributing goals from midfield as Clydeside collected silverware.

His form at club level also led to selection for the League Select side, where he featured during their run to the Inter-League Trophy Final. Following the departure of long-standing manager Andrew Maher, Gilchrist decided to move on. He has since joined Glennifer Thistle in the SMFA, bringing an end to a significant spell at Clydeside.

IN WITH THE NEW: The Prodigal Poacher Returns

Where Jordan Gilchrist provided control through midfield, Alan Duncan’s return addresses a different requirement for Clydeside Athletic. The striker has rejoined the club from Park Sports Project, bringing experience and a direct goal threat to the squad.

Duncan is familiar with the club, having begun his GCFA football at Clydeside before a long spell with PSP. Across that period, he has been part of title-winning sides and cup-winning teams, adding a level of experience shaped by multiple Premier League campaigns.

With one long-standing figure moving on and a familiar name returning, Clydeside Athletic continue the Premier League season with a clear shift in approach, adjusting personnel as they look to navigate the second half of the campaign.
