With the festive break under way, this Christmas Cracker recognises John Mullen for his contribution at Knightswood AFC in the GCFA Premier League.

John Mullen has played a key role at Knightswood AFC in the GCFA Premier League

From Chandlers to Knightswood

The story didn’t start at Knightswood. Two years ago, Mullen founded a Saturday morning side under the Chandlers FC name, adding a new setup alongside their established Sunday team. That side would later transition into Knightswood AFC.

Their first season in the Premier League brought immediate challenges, but the team adapted to the level and retained their place in the division.

The Transition

Over the summer, Mullen agreed a move that saw the team formally become the Saturday morning arm of Knightswood AFC. Since that transition, he has continued to play an active role across several areas of the club.

Recruitment: Adding players to strengthen the squad.

Management: Leading the team week to week in the GCFA Premier League.

On the pitch: Continuing to contribute as a player when required.
