Alongside the GCFA Squad of the Week, we also run Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week — a separate feature with a different focus.

The Squad of the Week reflects club nominations and recognises standout performances across the leagues. Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week is a tighter call: one XI, picked purely on impact and moments that changed games.

You can view Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week here:

Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week — Impact at the Sharp End with a 4-3-3

Before getting into this week’s selections, a quick word of thanks. Once again, clubs across the GCFA have backed this feature week in, week out — sending nominations, sharing details, and taking the time to highlight their own players. That support is what keeps this running.

It’s also why the GCFA continues to stand out as the best Saturday morning league around. Not because of noise or numbers, but because of the standards on the pitch and the people behind the teams who care enough to put players forward and recognise performances properly.

GK – James McGratten – Woodbank FC

Hero in the shootout with 2 big saves and with a big save in game he seals out MOTM

from turning up late with only 10 minutes to kick off and David turned it into an absouelty stormer of a performance with some critical saves to keep us in

The Clydeside number one got sent off and he stepped up and went in goal and done really good job for the team.

Been in great form recently and saved us on a good few occasions. Same again on Saturday with some brilliant stops.

GK – Andrew Patterson – Greater Croftpark Rose

Podge made two superb saves during the penalty shootout and never deserved to be on the loosing team.

DEFENDERS

DEF – Sunil Chatterjee – Woodbank FC

Great performance from Sunil using all his experience at the heart of defence

DEF – David McWilliams – Rosebank Utd

Only his 2nd game and still working on fitness and return from injury. Recovered from an own goal with a great performance. Hobbled up for a corner to grab a last gasp equaliser.

DEF – Reece Court – Rhu Colts

Along with his centre back partner he kept the visitors forwards very quiet

DEF – Liam Scullion – Rhu Colts

Another solid performance from Liam as he continues his comeback from injury

A mature, energetic, and tactical performance on his debut from the Burnhill defender. Looked equally talented at both CB and LB and chipped in with a goal from distance!

Came on at half time and immediately made an impact from left back. Gave us the lift we needed to continue our good form

STRIKERS

STR – Ryan Murney – Corinthians

His stats would suggest he is one of the best – if not the best – striker in the league over the past 4 years. Ryan scored 4 goals on Saturday, which has taken him to 102 goals in his 4 year in his Corinthians career.

STR – Feliciano – Burnhill FC

Two goals and a tireless performance from the Burnhill winger. His dribbling, quick passing and eye for goal helped Burnhill share the spoils with the much fancied Remo.

STR – Rocco Mcilvray – Toryglen Thistle

Rocco scored three and set up one for his team mate. The big striker was simply unplayable on the day.

STR – Jack Ritchie – Banknock FC

for squad of the week another 2 goals and the pick of the bunch with a top corner strike

STR – Vlad – Park Sports Project

man of the match on Saturday popping up with another 2 goals. Clydebank must hate seeing him line up as he is a constant thorn in their side.

STR – Gavin Lawlor – Corinthians

As one of the founders of the Corinthians, he has managed the team for 3 years, winning 2 leagues and runners up in a cup, as well as playing in goals. But all that was surpassed this weekend when he was brought on as a sub and showed tremendous pace – and went one on one with the keeper before calmly slotting the ball home to the delight of the team and supporters.

STR – Archie McNicol – Glasgow Island

led the line brilliantly on his own and scored two goals, the second being a brilliant solo effort.

STR – Zander Macneil – Glasgow Island

Another top performance from Zander and another 2 goals. First goal was a thing of beauty

STR – Patrick Foxworthy – Busby AFC

Foxy – popping up with another vital goal in another l important top of the table clash.

STR – Ross Martin – Westhill United

Ross scored a hat trick and was hit with an injury all in 30 mins 😂 very clinical on the day in a resounding victory

STR – Marc Buckley – Westhill United

Marc put lots of unselfish work on the day also! Got a hattrick as a just rewards for his effort.

STR – Scott Smith – Remo FC

Scott was outstanding on Saturday — he got on the scoresheet and produced a brilliant dummy to let a great through ball run through to Jack, who made no mistake.

STR – Michael Barker – QPSFC

After six months out through injury, last seasons top scorer climbed off the bench to secure a point against Cathcart.

A pin point header from a player that has been sorely missed.

STR – Kieran Redmond – Rossvale Huntershill

Another top performance to add to his collection for the season, When Kieran is on form he’s Hard to stop.
