I’m not big on milestones, but mid-season’s a fair point to stop and take stock. Not of form or momentum — just where I’ve actually been, who I’ve watched, and what’s still to do.

So far this season I’ve watched 44 of the 72 GDSFC clubs, which puts coverage at 61%, all seen in person. No second-hand notes, no filling gaps after the fact.

Every division has been covered, though not evenly — and that’s the honest picture.

Premiership: 5 of 11 watched

Championship: 9 of 12 watched

Division One: 8 of 16 watched

Division Two: 5 of 16 watched

Division Three: 11 of 16 watched

Championship and Division Three are well covered. Division Two is the one that still owes me a few Sundays.

One question worth answering was simple enough: have I watched the top two teams in every division? The answer is no — but close.

I’ve watched both top two teams in the Championship, Division One, and Division Three. The gaps are Glasgow North United in the Premiership, and Stonelaw and Inter Inchinnan in Division Two. That’s not avoidance — just how fixtures and routes have landed so far.

There’s also a difference between first visits and returns. So far, 11 clubs sit in my private “Top Team” column. That doesn’t mean best in the league — it just means I’ve spent proper time with them, done features, and enjoyed the football and the people. That list stays for my own reference.

The balance has stayed healthy: more new clubs than repeat visits, no division ignored, and no Sundays spent chasing tables instead of games.

Geographically, it’s been spread as well — South and Inner West, Govan and Ibrox, Lanarkshire, Paisley and Renfrew all ticked off at least once. Nobody’s getting followed just because it’s handy.

What I haven’t done matters too. No predictions. No form guesses. No writing about games I didn’t see. Just notes from the touchline and a growing list of clubs still to get eyes on.

At this point, 28 clubs remain unseen. Plenty of football still to watch, and no rush to finish the list for the sake of it.

The second half of the season will look much like the first: pick good fixtures, keep moving, and let the football decide what’s worth writing about.

Mid-Season & Festive Break Reviews

As the festive break lands, individual league reviews and mid-season checkpoints will be added below. Each piece stands on its own, but they all link back to this page as a record of what’s been seen, what’s been covered, and what still lies ahead.

Nothing here is rushed. Links will go live as the football is watched, notes are taken, and the second half of the season starts to form.
