Match: Kelburne AFC v Blantyre Utd
Referee: David McGuire
What was the most enjoyable part of refereeing this match — and how did you find the conditions with the bitter cold in shadows along with strong low sun?
The most enjoyable part of the game was the respect and attitude of both the players and coaches up there with the best lads all season
The conditions were tough especially at 1 side of the pitch was really hard to see the ball at times but boys done well to make best of it

Was there a moment — a goal, a challenge, or even a bit of sportsmanship — that summed up the spirit of Scottish amateur football for you?
After a 91st minute winner in a game between 2 sides going for the league sometimes can get a bit nasty at full time but both teams all shook hands and both teams were great with myself pretty much sums up the GDSFC
Any standout bit of skill, character, or respect from the players that deserves a mention?
Thought the Kelburn captain was outstanding and i heard after the match he was just back from a long term injury so that was good to see

How would you describe the overall feel of the game — fiery, respectful, end-to-end, or something else?.
The game overall was played in a great spirit both teams could have played better always tight when it’s your nearest challengers

Looking back, how do you reflect on the match from the referee’s perspective?.
Was genuinely 1 of my most enjoyable games all season and I hope to see both teams again

The referee played his part in a superb game. He understood what was at stake and kept things moving, stepping in only when he had to. He treated the players with respect, and they gave it back. It helped the match breathe and kept the focus on the football. Well done, David.
