The Red Star Legend Hits a Major Milestone as Clydebank Red Star record crucial victory against the reigning Premier League Champions.

Clydebank Red Star fans are buzzing after striker Gary Whyte marked his 50th appearance for the club in spectacular fashion this past weekend!

Whyte, who has proven to be an excellent addition since joining the Red Star ranks, celebrated the significant milestone by scoring the winning goal in a hard-fought match against Corinthians on Saturday.

A Star Performance

The tension was palpable, but in a moment of brilliance, Whyte delivered, securing the victory and solidifying his status as a key player. Reaching 50 appearances is a testament to his consistency, dedication, and value to the squad.

We caught up with Gary’s manager Scott

Scott Pollok

Gary joined Red Star during pre-season for the 24/25 season after his old club Singer folded. He brought vast experience with him, having won the GCFA Premiership and a cup within the setup during his time at Singer.

Our top goalscorer from the season before left the club and Gary filled that gap perfectly. He finished the season as our top goalscorer with 30 goals and managed to get 10 assists, totalling 40 goal contributions in 36 games, all from open play. Gary’s goals were crucial in Red Star securing promotion to the top flight.

Gary Whyte

Gary has brought that form into the Premier League this season, scoring the winner on his 50th appearance in our 3-2 win over Corinthians on Saturday.

He is a manager’s dream. He brings experience and quality but most importantly he brings standards. He always demands the best from his teammates and himself, being one of the oldest heads in the group but he’s always top of any running drill we do.

While all at Red Star love what he gives on the pitch, when he eventually hangs his boots up he’s the perfect fit for a coach. Hopefully he takes those next steps at Red Star too.

Footy Focus Sport would like to congratulate Gary on this fantastic achievement and thank him for his contributions over the last half-century of games! Here’s to many more goals and appearances for Clydebank Red Star! 🚀
