Another week and no shortage of lads trying to fight their way into my team of the week.
Four seasons in and the Squad of the Week has grown arms, legs, and opinions.
That’s where Hugh Dunnit steps in.
He doesn’t do polite applause — he picks the lads who made things happen: effort, impact, and a touch of grit. No heatmaps. No faff. Just standards.

Built on Impact — Picked for Goal Threat

🧤 Goalkeeper

Goalkeeper
GK – Thomas Hollis (Rutherglen Glencairn)
Two penalty saves in a shootout is as high-impact as it gets. Big moments under pressure — that’s why he gets the gloves.

RB – Teejay McCluskey (Rutherglen Glencairn)
Played out of position and still delivered a MOTM-level shift. Stood up defensively and didn’t blink.
CB – Jordan Kennedy (Corinthians)
Didn’t put a foot wrong and shut out Clydebank’s forwards. Leadership, calmness, and proper distribution.
CB – Paddy McGroarty (Clydeside Athletic)
Old-school centre-half display. Won everything, organised the line, took control of the area.
LB – David Hain (Clydeside Athletic)
Handled a pacey winger, defended well all game, and added quality going forward.

MIDFIELD THREE
CM – Kyle Campbell (Camby Milan)
A 35-yard free-kick goal and constant threat on the ball. One of the most decisive midfielders of the weekend.
CM – Josh Flood (Corinthians)
Covered the park, spoiled attacks, and kept the ball moving into dangerous areas. MOTM from his coach.
CM – Robbie Hay (Remo FC)
The engine. Wins 50/50s, drives the game, keeps standards high. Big contributions all over the pitch.

FRONT THREE — GOAL THREAT
Hugh’s priority this week.
RW – Daniel (Burnhill FC)
Four goals. Four. Carried the attacking threat from start to finish. Automatic pick.
ST – Graeme McCallum (Clydebank SMFC)
Ran the line, won the penalty, and scored it. Hard work, pressure moments, proper centre-forward shift.
LW – Stephen Lavery (Third Lanark AFC)
Came off the bench and finished the game with two well-taken goals. Clinical and decisive.
🔁 Bench
BENCH (IMPACT PICKS)
• GK: Michael Clasper (Thirds) – clean sheet, organised, steady.
• DEF: Sufyan (Burnhill) – strong at CB, tidy in the air.
• MID: Brandon McAuley (Camby Milan) – constant threat, unlucky not to get a hat-trick.
• MID: Chris Wilson (Thirds) – terrorised the full-back, created the opener.
• STR: Alan Duncan (Clydeside Athletic) – goal + strong hold-up play.

Priestly is having some season, and Saturday was another marker.
My manager of the week inspired a five-star performance that dismantled title challengers River Nevis.

“You can keep your fancy stats — these lads made things happen. Goals, graft, and guts. The rest will just have to chew on it.”
Thanks to the clubs who sent detailed nominations — they make this sharper every week and build on Hugh’s touchline viewings. Keep them coming, with context, so we can spotlight the shifts that swung points.
