Plenty of contenders, but one gaffer stood above the rest. Saturday was about control, discipline and a big away result when it mattered. Clydebank’s win over the reigning champions pushed their manager straight into the spotlight.
“Great Gall : Clydebank SMFC Boss Scoops Top Award After another big Win”

Martin Gallagher, manager of Clydebank SMFC , has been named Manager of the Week after guiding his side to a superb 1-0 victory over reigning champions Corinthians in the GCFA Premier League.
The experienced coach demonstrated his tactical nous, proving that he can still cut it with the big boys of amateur football.

#ManagerOfTheWeek
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Marty, the gaffer down at Clydebank, who showed real steel to steer his stuttering side back to winning ways and has now defeated the Reigning Premier League Champions on their home turf.
Enduring a Tough Campaign
Marty, a former Cup Double winner, has had a tough start to this season. Injuries have taken important players out of the side and that’s made it harder to build any real rhythm. Results have been up and down, but the effort has never dipped, even with a stretched squad.
The Big Win Against Corinthians
Clydebank SMFC earned a big three points on Saturday with a hard-fought win away to the reigning champions, Corinthians. It’s been a challenging season for the squad, so getting over the line in a tight game like this will feel important. Taking points off one of the strongest sides in the league is a result that should give them a lift.
The platform for the upset was Clydebank’s outstanding defensive display. Up against a Corinthians attack known for carving teams open, Clydebank gave up remarkably few clear chances. That resilience was all the more impressive considering they were forced to play an outfielder in goal. The entire side rallied around their makeshift keeper, showing real discipline and organisation to keep Corinthians at bay.
It was a tight contest with not much between the sides in open play. Clydebank took their moment, managed the game well, and held their shape when it mattered. Given the circumstances, it’s a result that should give the squad something solid to build on.
It was an important three points against the current champions, and a reminder of what Clydebank are capable of when they’re organised and fully committed to the game plan. With players missing and an outfielder in goal, it was a valuable result for Marty and his squad.

BIG GAME PLAYERS

We caught up with Marty and he had this to say.

A tremendous victory on Saturday against a brilliant Corinthians team. So happy for all the boys who have been giving everything all season but maybe not getting the rewards.
We defended incredibly well limiting our opponents to very little which was really important as we had an outfielder in goals.
All in all there wasn’t a huge amount between the two sides but I’m delighted we edged it and hopefully this is a bit of turning point in our season.
Well done to Marty 👏👏
