Lokomotiv Glasgow
This weeks footy focus GCFA PLAYER OF THE WEEK
An excellent week for Smith means he takes away the GCFA player of the week award.

What a game. What a finish. What a player.
The faithful at the Lokomotiv Stadium witnessed one of the most astonishing turnarounds in recent memory as Lokomotiv Glasgow, down to ten men, battled back from a losing position to defeat Kings Park United 3-2. And the name on everyone’s lips? Kev Smith.
With the clock winding down and Lokomotiv facing the prospect of a disappointing defeat, the game looked all but over. Reduced to ten players, the team needed a miracle—and they got one in the form of their midfield engine.
In a breathtaking final 15 minutes, Smith elevated his performance to legendary status. Showing incredible heart and stamina, he did the running of two men, tirelessly closing down Kings Park players and driving his team forward.
The comeback was completed with a stunning hat-trick from Smith, each goal fueled by pure determination, pulling three points out of the hat for Lokomotiv Glasgow.
It was more than just a win; it was a defiant statement of character. When the odds were stacked against them, Kev Smith’s heroics ensured that this team’s fighting spirit will be celebrated long after the final whistle.

The Gaffer Ross Methven spoke about Saturday’s big match and Kev Smith’s performance

Kev is a key part of the Lokos Squad, often playing as a long striker with support from our midfield with 11 men, never mind 10. Kev’s ability to link with the wide players to move us up the pitch before getting into scoring positions in the box is superb.
For Saturday’s game, whilst down to 10 men Kev spent 65 minutes chasing down balls, applying pressure on the KP back line and holding up the ball where he could. Always alert to pounce on any chances, even late in the game he showed his capabilities with a header back across goal from a wide free kick to claw a goal back and keep us in the game at 75 mins. The goal lifted the Lokos spirits and gave us a second wind. From this we pushed a bit higher and squeezed KP back, with our tails up their left back played a backpass which Kev, still on the hunt for any opportunity, pounced on and poked past the keeper for 2-2 with 10 to go.
KP came out fighting and looking to get a third to reclaim the points, but as all good strikers do, from a long clearance in our own half which flew onto the KP bar, Kev had followed in and his luck was in as the ball rebounded into his path with the keeper on the floor, slotting his third goal and all 3 points for the Lokos. 8 goals in the league and 6 more in all comps see his as lokos standout top scorer for the season.

👏Another standout showing in the GCFA — proof that Saturday morning football delivers drama and quality.
