The Boca Championship has already delivered drama, goals and big moments — and October belonged to one player whose influence couldn’t be ignored.

October was such a good month for one Rhu Colts player in particular and our winner announced today played a big part in their team having a good month

An excellent October personally means Rhu Colts midfielder David Connolly walks away with the Boca Championship Player of the Month award.

Midfielders don’t always get the recognition they deserve. While strikers grab headlines with goals and defenders with last-ditch tackles, it’s often the players in the middle of the park who quietly control the rhythm of the game.

This month, however, there has been no ignoring David Connolly. His performances have been superb, earning him the well-deserved October Player of the Month award.

Since joining Rhu Colts this summer from St Pats, David has been an invaluable addition to the squad. His bags of experience have been a significant asset, particularly for our younger players who have benefited immensely from his guidance both on and off the pitch.

David’s performances throughout the month have consistently shown his quality, adding a crucial new dimension to our game. This was highlighted by his truly outstanding performance on against Woodbank in the West Of Scotland Cup, where he netted a brilliant hat trick and added an assist to seal the result. He was a constant threat to the opposition whenever he was on the ball.

Since joining us in August after a spell away from football, David Connolly has quickly shown he can be a key player for this team.

A proper old-fashioned winger, David combines hard work with real quality in the final third—timing his runs into the box superbly and always looking to take on fullbacks and hit the byline.

He’s become a reliable out ball when we’re under pressure and a real creative force in attack. His improvement game by game has been outstanding, and his performances this month have been unbelievable.

The exciting thing for us—and not so much for our opponents—is that there’s still even more to come from him.

From quality passes and tireless running in the engine room to ruthless playmaking, October showed us exactly what this midfielder is all about — quality on the pitch and passion behind the badge.
