Port Glasgow boys Club recently joined the GCFA and it has been a summer of hard dedication for Ryan to shape his squad for the hectic season ahead.
Your very own Roving Reporter would say this is a very good start to life in the GCFA for Ryan and Port Glasgow BC. No doubt they will fancy their chances of achieving their dreams of making it into the GCFA Premier League.

Port Glasgow Boys Club manager Ryan Stewart had these comments to make after winning this prestigious award.
“Thanks very much for the selection and recognition, however, these sort of awards are never about me and they are never achieved without the input from the other coaches, the support from the wider club, but ultimately the attitude and application from the players.
I says to the boys on Saturday, our set up and preparation is the same no matter what, but it’s the attitude of the players in the changing room that will determine our success.
It’s been a good start to the season, and October provided a couple of tough fixtures and challenges which the boys done well in. Progressing in the cups and getting the league campaign started at last. It’s been a decent start, but that’s all it’s been. There’s still loads to improve on.
This award is a testament to the players and the hard work they put in at training and on a Saturday.
I’m lucky here that the club, other coaches and the senior players in the team take a lot of responsibility in making sure it’s a good set up and environment for the boys to come and play, and up to now we’ve done well.
We’ve got some really tough fixtures ahead and definitely won’t be getting carried away with ourselves. It’s boring, but we take it one game at a time.”

Your roving reporter reckons October has sent a clear message — One league win, cup progression , and a team playing with real belief. If this is the opening act, the rest of the Championship better be ready. Honour well earned
