Named in memory of Sean Jones — a goalkeeper, a teammate, and a friend who set the standard for others to follow — the Golden Glove Award recognises those continuing his example.

This initiative, led by the GDSFC League Committee, highlights the goalkeepers showing consistency, reliability, and leadership between the posts.

Week after week, these players bring calm to chaos and give their teams the foundation to build on.

🕊️ In Their Words — GDSFC on the Sean Jones Award

🧤 New Award Announcement
GDSFC is proud to introduce a brand-new award celebrating the incredible work of our goalkeepers — the Golden Glove Award.

This award will recognise the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets across the season.
Goalkeepers are often the unsung heroes of our game, and this award will celebrate their dedication, bravery and contribution to their team.
In memory of Sean Jones, who sadly passed away recently, the league will honour his legacy by naming this accolade: The Sean Jones Golden Glove Award.

A fitting tribute to a player who embodied passion, commitment, and love for the game. His legacy will now live on in our league through this award.

Our thoughts remain with Sean’s family, friends and teammates. Forever remembered. 🕊️
