The league table is starting to take shape, but this Saturday offers a chance for big swings at both the top and bottom. We’ve got massive top-three clashes, an unbeaten run on the line, and key battles for early-season momentum.

LEAGUE TABLE

DTI AFC V PORT GLASGOW BOYS CLUB

10:00 AM Kick Off – Glasgow Green Astro

• The Story: This is a crucial basement battle. DTI who are rooted to the bottom of the league table are still searching for their first points of the season and have the unenviable record of a -32 goal difference.

• The Opportunity: PGBC Amateurs sit in 10th place in the league table but they have games in hand over most of the other clubs in the division.

PGBC are also unbeaten in all competitions so far and will see this as a perfect opportunity to get a vital three points, distance themselves from the bottom, and continue their solid start.

Expect Port Glasgow Boys Club to be confident going into this one.

SOUTHSIDE UNITED V BUSBY AFC

10:00 AM Kick Off – Toryglen Sports Centre

Southside United (11th) v Busby AFC (5th)

The Story: This is a tough task for Southside United who sit in eleventh place in the table.

They have yet to register a win this season (0W, 4D, 2L) and have the joint-most draws in the league.

The Visitors: Busby AFC sit in 5th place in the league table but have played only 3 games and m already picked up two wins.

They will be looking to capitalise on their games in hand and push right into the top three, making them the clear favourites for this clash.

WOODBANK FC V NETHERTON AFC

9:00 AM Kick Off – Greenfield Astro

Woodbank AFC (8th) v Netherton FC (6th)

• The Story: A classic mid-table six-pointer. Both teams are locked on five and six points respectively, and a win here is vital to leapfrog rivals and create some distance from the bottom half.

Form Guide: Netherton (6th) have shown good scoring form (14 goals in 4 games) but have a mixed record. Woodbank (8th) have been solid defensively (6 goals conceded in 4 games) but will need to find more scoring punch (7 goals for) if they want to take all three points at home.

GLASGOW ANSAR V RHU COLTS

10:00 AM Kick Off – Glasgow Green Astro

• The Story: This is the headline fixture of the weekend in many of our football pundits opinions.

League leaders Glasgow Ansar, despite a league-high of seven games played, have managed to keep their nose in front at the top of the table.

However, they face a truly formidable opponent in Rhu Colts who sit in third place in the league table.

Rhu Colts are currently unbeaten in the league and with three wins and one draw from their opening four matches so far.

• Key Stat: Rhu Colts have a +9 goal difference from only four games, suggesting a ruthless efficiency in front of goal.

Glasgow Ansar will need to be at their absolute best to contain them and consolidate their lead.

A win for either club would send a huge statement to the league.

LOKOMOTIV V KINGS PARK UNITED

10:00 AM Kick Off – Palace Of Arts

Lokomotiv Glasgow AFC (4th) vs Kings Park United AFC (2nd)

This one has the feel of a real upset waiting to happen. Kings Park United are still unbeaten, sitting second on 12 points with a massive +19 goal difference — easily the best in the league. They’ve only let in five goals all season, which tells you everything about how organised they are at the back.

But Lokomotiv Glasgow, despite their mixed form, can score goals. They’ve already stuck away 18 this campaign, and when they’re on it, they can trouble anyone. They just haven’t found consistency, with two wins and a draw from seven games.

Kings Park will be favourites here, but if Lokomotiv catch them on a loose day, this could get interesting.

GREATER CROFTPARK ROSE V THIRD LANARK AFC

10:00 AM Kick Off – Firhill Complex

GCR (9th) v Third Lanark (7th)

The Story: Two teams currently sitting in the bottom half but with positive goal differences!

Third Lanark sit in seventh position and are another one of the leagues unbeaten sides.

Lanark have played three games (1W, 2D) and boast an impressive +5 goal difference.

The Pressure: Greater Croftpark Rose sit in 9th place in the league table and are on a negative goal difference and will be desperate to break Third Lanark’s unbeaten streak to climb the table and show they belong in the top half.
