Huge Dunnit Team of week is coming

Every name here was put forward by the clubs themselves — real voices from real games. This is the GCFA Squad of the Week, built on the details you sent in: saves at 1–0, last-ditch tackles, midfield graft, and finishes under heat.

Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Week will be chosen from this squad — but tonight, the spotlight is on the lads who earned their place.

Goalkeepers
Chosen from club nominations to our GCFA Squad of the Week.”

GK – Josh – Glasgow Ansar
Solid all season, coming up with important saves whenever needed — Saturday was no different. Earned plaudits from the opposition.

GK – Tom Kelleher – Glasgow Medics
Clean sheet with two fantastic saves. Won the point in a fiercely contested game.

GK – Kenzi Hill – LS Memorial
Manager stepped back in goals after a broken knee and two surgeries; kept his team in it and helped deliver a massive three points. Seven one-on-ones saved, plus two top-corner free-kicks tipped away. Commanded his box and led on and off the pitch.

Defenders.
“More detail in your nomination = better chance of selection.”

DEF – Josh Montgomery – Queens Park SFC
Captain for the day and led by example. Stunning deep cross for the late winner; all-action throughout.

DEF – Anton McGrotty – PSP
Rock-solid at full-back. Key part of the clean sheet and cup progression.

DEF – Kev McCann – Southside United
Led by example, organised superbly at the back, and met everything in the air.

DEF – Darren Stevenson Snr – PGBC
Solid, determined showing from the veteran defender.

DEF – Dean Harley – Southside United
Back to his best — prioritised defending and did it brilliantly.

DEF – Gav Innes – Queens Park SFC
Left-back contributed both ways; forward runs into Bearsden’s half caused constant problems. Vintage ‘Gazelle’ stuff.

DEF – Calum MacLennan – Glasgow Island
Looks a new player this season. Has made the LCB slot his own with a disciplined display.

DEF – Richard Henry – Rhu Colts
Another from the midfield trio who excelled on Saturday — dominated the middle with Paul and Adam.

DEF – Drew Niven – Glasgow Island
Really solid at the back, especially vital when down to 10 for the final half hour. Seconds away from a deserved clean sheet; Drew was instrumental.

DEF – Connor Duggan – PSP
Dug in and produced a defensive masterclass to shut down the opposition. Top performance from a top player.

Midfielders.
“More detail in your nomination = better chance of selection.”

Mid – Leo Bain – LS Memorial

Leo centre mid not played in years been coming on as a sub got his chance against banknock centre midfield and got an assist played amazing played like he enjoyed playing again instead of with panic or worry composed on the ball getting space down the wings and passes finding a man every time held the midfield together and was helping his teammates out calming the defenders down just worked hard to get the start for the club and his work ethic been amazing

MID – Adam Daniel – Rhu Colts
Back in the team after a week out and sparkled in midfield.

MID – Greg Sidwell – Clydebank Red Star
Outstanding from Siddy — battled brilliantly and used the ball well when needed.

MID – Ryan Bennett – Rutherglen Glencairn AFC
Standout display: physicality, powerful running, and quality on the ball — a MOTM performance.

MID – Michael McGoldrick – Clydebank Red Star
Back to his best in CDM — solid and into everything.

MID – Paul McCambridge – Lokomotiv
Captain’s shift. From right-back he caused chaos for DTI: two assists and a rare left-foot half-volley goal.

MID – Cammy Hill – Glasgow Island
Another powerful outing; hugely instrumental in both goals.

MID – Dale Mullen – PGBC
MOTM in a battling performance to reach the next round of the Scottish Cup.

MID – Paul Cavana – Rhu Colts
Even better than last week. After a long absence, he’s getting back to the high standard everyone expects.

MID – Colin Fraser – Southside United
Stepped up when down to 10 for 70 minutes — huge selfless running. Fraser, Doyle and Young were tremendous in midfield.

MID – Jordan Hay – Nethercraigs
Excellent all game; smashed a rocket for the winner, then added a cracker from 30 yards five minutes later.

MID – Brandon McAuley – Camby Milan
Standout of the day. Unanimous MOTM for his influence in attack and a crucial goal.

MID – Gary McTavish – Netherton AFC
Superb on the left and scored twice. Didn’t deserve to be on the losing side.

MID – Aiden Wilkinson – Lokomotiv
Back-to-back strong displays from the left wing — two goals and constant link play to create chances.

Strikers.
“More detail in your nomination = better chance of selection.”

STR – Zak Thomson – LS Memorial
Simply outstanding again, adding a tidy finish to the collection.
