Three names, one spotlight — whose October graft gets its reward?

#SaturdayMorningFootball #ScottishAmateurFootball

October was a month where touchline voices mattered just as much as what happened on the pitch.

Three managers — Ryan Carmichael (Cambuslang FA), Chris Priestly (Burnhill FC), and Calum Morrison (River Nevis) — stood out for different reasons, but all shared the same trait: lifting their squads when it counted most.

From Cambuslangs bounce-back form to Burnhill’s momentum-building wins and River Nevis’ turnaround, each boss showed why the Conference League remains one of the GCFA’s most unpredictable battlegrounds.

Ryan Carmichael – Cambuslang FA

Experienced boss Carmichael was unfortunate not to lead his team into the Boca Championship and has been slow to adjust to life in the Conference league

Ryan has bounced back with a fantastic October by winning two and drawing one of the three matches his team have played.

Ryan was an easy nomination for the Manager of the month award.

CHRIS PRIESTLY – BURNHILL FC

The Burnhill gaffer has had a very productive October and he will be looking for more from his team throughout November

Two big wins over Cathcart and Bearsden AFC have really put Burnhill in a good place.

CALUM MORRISON

– RIVER NEVIS

Morrison has had a tough start to the season but he is turning things around and is shaping up his River Nevis team to be title challengers

Wins over Westhill United and Bearsden AFC have put Calum Morrison in the frame for the Conference manager of the month.

Big wins, bounce-backs, and belief — that’s what this month’s nominations are built on. The GCFA Conference keeps reminding everyone why Saturday morning football matters.

📊 Who gets your nod? We’ll soon find out — but one thing’s certain: the bar has already been set sky-high.

Hugh Dunnit says:

You can tell a lot about a league by the names up for Manager of the Month. In the GCFA, it’s never just a token shortlist — it’s gaffers who’ve earned it the hard way. Every nomination shows why this league stands out: real graft, real standards, and managers setting the tone for Saturday mornings.
