Cambuslang Football Academy (Milan) secured passage to Round 4 after a dominant attacking display saw them defeat Kirkliston & South Queensferry (KSQ) 5-2 in a hard-fought encounter on Saturday.

The match held at Stepford Sports Centre, was defined by an explosive opening spell from the home side. Cambuslang Milan, playing with high intensity, stormed into a 3-0 lead within the first 35 minutes, leaving the visitors reeling.

KSQ Briefly Threatens Comeback

Despite the early deficit, KSQ showed resilience. Just before the interval, the visitors managed to pull two goals back, injecting a brief moment of tension into the contest and ensuring the half-time break was a cautious one for the Milan camp.

However, any hope of a full comeback was quickly extinguished in the second half. Milan emerged from the break with the same intensity that marked their start, reasserting control of the game and adding two further goals to cement their victory with a final score of 5-2.

McAuley Shines as MOTM

The goals were shared across the forward line, underscoring a cohesive team effort. John Dempster led the scoring with a brace, while Brandon McAuley, Dylan Canning, and Chrissy Craig each contributed a goal.

The standout performance of the day belonged to Brandon McAuley, who was unanimously named Man of the Match (MOTM) for his influential role in the attack and his crucial goal.

The victory ensures Cambuslang Milan’s place in the next stage of the competition.
