Pollokshields United boss Nim Roy shared his full-time thoughts after the fiery 7-3 Sunday Trophy win over Caldervale — a result that keeps the GDSFC flag flying high in the national cup.

Name: Nim Roy
Club: Pollokshields Utd
Match: v Caldervale Utd
Competition: Sunday Trophy

Mixed feelings, obviously delighted to get through, but didn’t play anywhere near how can, and really below par today, felt lowered levels to match opponents (with no disrespect to them) Lost some scrappy goals but once got self in front then pushed on and not looking back

Was there a key moment or decision that changed things?
Fresh legs and different dimension to midfield allowed us to play a bit more i think and in end few late goals Make it more comfortable

We knew not at best but stuck in and picked up the equalisers ao not too far out

Anything you’ll look to tighten up or work on before next week?
Training Thursday. Wee session on free kicks but overall pass
N move can go wrong

Obvious one was Hastie scoring 4 goals, some great finishes there. (Outwith 3-3 goal haha)
Other positives thought Paul
Kilday done well in goals and claiming the 🧤 for rest of season as murray unavailable.
Also brilliant to see big Dan back, been out for a year but looked like never been away. Looking forward to him getting back more regularly

A solid cup win in the end, but Nim clearly expects higher standards as the season kicks on.

Footy Focus take:
The Inside Verdict works because it cuts straight to the people who were actually in it — no reporter gloss, just real words from the pitch-side. Nim’s reaction shows the honesty and small details you only get when a manager speaks straight after full-time
