Scoring once turns heads. Scoring twice turns the game. But three? That’s when you make sure everyone remembers your name.

On Saturday, Bishopton striker Ethan Furze did exactly that — firing a hat-trick past Clydebank Red Star to secure a vital GCFA Premier League win. His sharp movement, composed finishing and selfless team play summed up a forward who’s found his rhythm — and a Bishopton side growing in belief.

Name: Ethan Furze
Team: Bishopton FC
Position: Striker

First things first — talk us through that hat-trick. Which goal meant the most?

I’d say the first was the most important, got us ahead and deservedly

Which of the three goals was your favourite, and why?

I would personally say the second goal probably sums me up best, ball in behind into a good area and slotted into the back of the net.

Did you have a feeling it was going to be your day once the first one went in?

I didn’t really think about that to be honest, the boys were playing well and playing the right passes so i knew the chances would come for me.

How do you celebrate a day like this at amateur level – quiet pint or full squad night out

A few pints with the boys back at Lorimers is always a go to.

What does this performance say about your team right now?

We are in a good place, All the boys have been superb and everyone’s in it together, we’ve got a brilliant squad and the morale is great at the moment so that helps with everything

Finally, what’s the target now the goals are flowing?

Hopefully to get more goals but as long as the team are winning then that’s all that matters

No hype needed — three goals, three points, job done.

Another Saturday that shows why amateur football keeps producing stories that matter.
