We asked Alan Skelton to describe the history of Vale Fc

Vales FC are new to the GDSFC, previously playing in the GCCL and they starting in division 3 in the new format. The Vale are now looking to take the next steps for their amateur team and looking to build club worth being in the top divisions. Vale FC (Preciously Vale XI) started as a one off game raising money for charity which snowballed onto an annual charity event before the now amatuer team decided to train weekly and play games on a more regular basis around 2017. They previously had ties with the Greenock welfare league who where a huge stepping stone in allowing the Vale to gain experience of how to run an amateur club weekly and all behind the scenes work that comes with it.

During the period of 2017-present as the amateur team started to become something more serious the Vale also had a team in the Disability futsal league which it gained its first success winning 4 league titles on the bounce. Further to this the Vale then started a pan disability team which also went onto major success winning 7 trophies in 3 season including a domestic treble which consisted of the Pan league premiership trophy.

The Vale now look to bring that success to amateur team and are looking to continuing growing the club year by year

Roving report…Building Beyond the Pitch

Vale’s progress isn’t just about results. The club’s work across disability football, coaching, and local partnerships shows the kind of structure most amateur sides dream of building. Their next chapter in the GDSFC is about turning that foundation into consistency — week after week, division by division.
