MURDERER BURCH

Rhu’s Reaper: A Halloween Haunting for Murdo “Murder” Burch

As the wind howls across Upper Ardenconnell and the imaginary floodlights flicker in our dreams, something fiery glows through the darkness — the unmistakable ginger beard of Murdo “Murder” Burch.

A true box-to-box operator, Murder doesn’t just close players down — he tracks their souls. Fueled by Disaronno and sheer determination, he charges around the park like a heat-seeking grim reaper, turning opposition attacks into ghost stories. Blink, and he’s there. Try to run, and he’s already nicked the ball — and probably shouted about it too.

But it’s not just opponents who feel his presence. Teammates know that if there’s a question to be asked, Murdo’s asking it — and answering it — before anyone else. He lives for the banter: giving it, taking it, and keeping spirits high (especially when those spirits come in a bottle).

Of course, not everyone appreciates his enthusiasm — particularly the referees. “Murder” is currently serving a short spell on the sidelines after one too many constructive conversations with officials. But even suspended, he’s still the heartbeat of the dressing room — the joker, the spark, and the soul that keeps Rhu ticking.

So as Halloween creeps closer, raise a glass (of Disaronno, naturally) to Murdo “Murder” Burch — the man with the fiery beard and even hotter temper, who proves that grit, graft, and a good dose of gallus will always outlast silky skills and quiet manners.

Happy Halloween — and beware when “Murder” returns to Upper Ardenconnell… the tackles will be flying, and the banter will be relentless.
