Scoring once turns heads. Scoring twice turns the game. But three? That’s when you make sure everyone remembers your name. On Saturday, Stephen Mullen did exactly that for Cambuslang FA, hitting a hat-trick that tore through Queens Park SFC and sealed a big league win. Sharp movement, confident finishing, and the kind of form every striker wants — this was a morning to remember.

Name: Stephen Mullen
Team: Cambuslang
Position: Striker

First things first — talk us through that hat-trick. Which goal meant the most?

1st goal as it was a lovely move and flick to me, then took it well on my left foot levelling the game at 1-1.

Which of the three goals was your favourite, and why?

1st goal as it was my left foot and it started me off confident

The last goal as it was an assist from the keepers punt which let me use my speed and strength against the defence (and a bit of luck) to get the goal.

Did you have a feeling it was going to be your day once the first one went in?

I felt like I had the beating of the defenders and felt we were the better team and the goals would come.

I only joined the team this season so they are starting to know the way I play and I am getting more chances as a result.

How do you celebrate a day lie this at amateur level – quiet pint or full squad night out

Two young kids, whats a pub? 😂

What does this performance say about your team right now?

That we are confident against anyone!

Finally, what’s the target now the goals are flowing?

Win the league 🏆

No headlines or hype needed — three finishes, three points, job done.
