New Era Dawns: Sean Simpson Appointed Scottish Amateur FA Representative Team Manager

The Scottish Amateur FA (SAFA) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sean Simpson as our new Representative Team Manager.
Sean is a name synonymous with achievement in Scottish football, both as a player and, more recently, as a highly successful manager. Hailing from Glenrothes, Sean brings a wealth of experience to the role, accrued across both the senior and amateur game.
A Familiar Face Returns
Crucially, Sean is no stranger to the Representative Team. He enjoyed a distinguished playing career in the national amateur setup, serving as a player and captain for the Scottish Amateur Representative team between 2004 and 2007. This deep understanding of what it means to represent the Scottish Amateur FA will be invaluable as he steps into the management hot seat.
Proven Success on the Sidelines
Sean’s managerial credentials speak for themselves. Most recently, he masterminded a remarkable period of success at Cupar Hearts between 2020 and 2024. During his tenure, Sean led the club to an astonishing 11 trophies, a haul that included two consecutive, historic back-to-back Scottish Amateur Cup wins. His record demonstrates a proven ability to motivate, organize, and deliver silverware at the highest level of the amateur game.
Sean takes up his post immediately and is already looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and forging a strong future for the Representative Team.
Please join us in giving Sean a warm welcome to his new role. We are excited about the experience, passion, and winning mentality he brings to the SAFA.
