We announce  GCFA BOCA CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

The Boca Championship has already delivered drama, goals and big moments — and September belonged to one player whose influence couldn’t be ignored.

September was such a good month for one Woodbank FC player in particular and our winner announced today played a big part in their team having a good month

An excellent September personally means Woodbank midfielder Scott Sneddon walks away with the Boca Championship Player of the Month award.

Snid is a top quality Midfielder who leads his team by example on the park. He gives his team such an outlet and never hides from taking the ball.

Fellow opponents always know they are in a game when they see the maestro Scott Sneddon lining up in the opposition team

Midfielders don’t always get the recognition they deserve. While strikers grab headlines with goals and defenders with last-ditch tackles, it’s often the players in the middle of the park who quietly control the rhythm of the game.

This month, however, there has been no ignoring Scott Sneddon. His performances have been superb, earning him the well-deserved September Player of the Month award.

Snid: The Veteran Midfielder Still Dictating the Game

Sneddon isn’t just a player; he’s a master conductor on the pitch. Our Roving Reporter caught a ton of action in September, and it was Snid, the veteran midfielder, who consistently stole the show.

Forget the flashy youngsters—Snid uses the most valuable asset in the amateur football: experience. He doesn’t just run; he thinks. His influence on the game isn’t about scoring hat tricks, but about controlling the tempo.

Watch him closely and you’ll see why he stands out:

Snid is constantly scanning the field, anticipating the next pass, the next interception, and the next run. He’s the one who dictates the pace, slowing it down to frustrate the opposition or injecting a sudden burst of speed to create a chance.

The Unseen Work: It’s the small things that elevate a player to Snid’s level: the perfectly weighted through ball that cuts through the defense, the tactical foul that breaks up a dangerous counter-attack, or the simple, calm pass that relieves pressure in a tight spot.

The midfielder just needs to stay out of the Referees little black book as he is well know to be a card collector 😝

Snid is proof that in football, the brain often beats the legs. He’s a joy to watch, and his September performances have cemented his status as one of the most effective and influential midfielders in the league.

THE GAFFER

We caught up with his gaffer Brian Hay who said.

Scott “Snid” Sneddon

At the end of last season there was chat that Snid might be available so we enquired as the squad was desperate for the experience that he could bring.

Fast forward to pre season and he fitted right in and the boys were feeding off his quality but then for personal reasons he had to step away for about 7 weeks which halted his season at that point.

When he came back and got going again it was evident from his first game v Third Lanark that his fight and calmness in battle were very much needed and would help the younger members of the squad go up a level.

Now that he’s fully integrated into the squad and has his fitness up to a good level again it’s evident that he’s one of the best central midfielders in the division.

We are looking forward to how his season plays out and shows that age is no barrier when it comes to quality.

From quality passes and tireless running in the engine room to ruthless playmaking, September showed us exactly what this midfielder is all about — quality on the pitch and passion behind the badge.
