GAME ONE

BARRHEAD V POLLOKSHIELDS UNITED

Barrhead started strong and took control early. A neat slide pass and chipped finish by McKeown gave them the opener, before a second chip shot from 25 yards doubled their lead with little pressure from the Shields midfield.

Shields’ Hastie came close with a good effort, and Singh was denied by a tremendous save from the Barrhead keeper.

Barrhead extended their lead to 3–0 through Ornas after capitalising on a misplaced pass.

Declan McCafferty pulled one back for Shields with a superb free-kick to make it 3–1 before the break.

The contest was end-to-end, resembling a basketball match, and moments later, Diverse struck back yet again with a superb finish to make it 3-3.

The madness intensified when Diverse, showing incredible resilience, won a penalty of their own. It was slammed home to miraculously level the scores once more.

The intensity boiled over, and Woodlands were left incensed when one of their players was shown a red card for a reckless late challenge.

Woodlands were stunned, literally on their knees with seconds remaining. A desperate ‘Hail Mary’ punt into the box was cleared, and the referee brought the enthralling contest to an end.

Exhausted but elated, the players embraced, having delivered a spectacular, back-and-forth match that will undoubtedly be a contender for Game of the Season.
