GCFA PREMIER LEAGUE

September at the top level had the lot — big saves, bigger screams, and a few touchline ding-dongs. I’ve watched it, heard it, and argued about it. So here it is: my Premier League XI for September. Some you’ll love, some you’ll loathe. That’s the point.

Now, don’t expect everyone to nod along. These are my choices for the Premier League Team of the Month. Some you’ll agree with, others will have you spitting out your tea. That’s the beauty of it — controversy keeps the league alive.

Goalkeeper and Defence

Gallacher, Hoggan, McFadyen & Da Silva

Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Month Notes

🧤 Ross Gallacher (Clydebank Red Star)

Ross has been nothing short of sensational between the sticks. Time and again he’s come up with the big save when his side needed it most, keeping Clydebank Red Star alive in national competition. Calm, commanding, and clutch — you can’t ask much more from your goalkeeper.

Nicky Hoggan (Bishopton)

You always know what you’re getting with Hoggan. No frills, no fuss, just consistency in spades. September was another month where he stood tall as Bishopton’s Mr. Reliable — steadying the ship and driving standards every time he pulled on the shirt.

🔥 Aaron McFadyen (Camby Milan)

New league, no problem. McFadyen has taken to the Premier League like he’s been here for years. Fresh off promotion with Camby Milan, September was all about making statements — and he’s strung together a run of quality performances that show he belongs at this level.

Angelo Da Silva (Nethercraigs)

You’d never guess Da Silva only just arrived at Nethercraigs. He’s slotted straight in and lifted the team with his energy and quality. Throughout September, his form has been nothing short of electric — a signing that already looks inspired.

MIDFIELDERS

Redmond, MacNeil, Halleran & Gallacher

Hugh Dunnit’s Team of the Month Notes – Midfield & Attack

🎯 Kieran Redmond (Rossvale Huntershill)

Redmond has hit the ground running this season and never looked back. The wide man’s pace, guile and delivery have been a nightmare for defences, and through September he’s been the heartbeat of Rossvale Huntershill. He looks every bit the midfield maestro fans have come to expect.

Zander MacNeil (Glasgow Island)

MacNeil has transformed his game by getting himself into peak condition, and the results have been clear for all to see. September might just have been the finest month of his career — full of sharp movement, clever runs, and goalscoring threat. Glasgow Island’s talisman is on fire.

🎩 Thomas Halleran (Corinthians)

If you want to see what a midfield magician looks like, watch Halleran in a Corinthians shirt. He’s pulled the strings beautifully all month, helping his side climb to the very top of the Premier League. Time and again in September, his quality shone brightest when it mattered most.

🔥 Aiden Gallacher (PSP)

Gallacher is becoming one of those players you simply can’t leave out. Once again, September saw him at the heart of everything good for PSP, driving forward with intent and creating danger every time he got on the ball. He’s a match-winner — plain and simple.

STRIKERS

McNicol, Smith & McGillvary

McNicol ( Glasgow Island)

McNicol just keeps doing what he does best — finding the back of the net. He’s a predator in the box, a nightmare for defenders, and he’s shown once again in September why he’s one of the most reliable finishers in the business.

🔥 Smith (Rutherglen Glencairn AFC)

Every week Smith is growing in stature. He’s not just scoring goals, he’s bullying defences, leading the line, and proving that he’s quickly becoming one of the very best strikers in the league. His form has been relentless.

🏆 McGillvary (Toryglen Thistle)

If you’re looking for the man spearheading Toryglen’s title charge, look no further than McGillvary. He’s led the line with power and precision, and his goals are giving Toryglen every chance of turning ambition into silverware this season.

Together, McNicol, Smith and McGillvary are lighting up the Premier League, and their battle at the top of the goalscoring charts is one to savour.

If you’re raging, good. If you’re nodding, better. Either way, the GCFA is bursting with players worth the petrol and the early alarm. See you at the railings next weekend — I’ll be the one pretending not to hear the complaints.
