The GCFA Championship has been a stage for goals, graft, and genuine leadership this month. From new signings already making their mark to long-serving stalwarts still driving standards, these players have shaped their teams’ fortunes in September.

The shortlist reflects consistency, influence, and those crucial moments that turn tight games. Every name here has a case — but only one can take home the crown.

David Connolly – RHU COLTS

David is one of Rhu Colts new signings in the summer but comes with bags of experience having played with St Pats in the past.

His experience has been invaluable to the club, as has some of our other summer signings, to the younger players in the squad and he gives us another dimension to our game.

A top month for David who has provided plenty of goals and assists.

Scott Paton – PORT GLASGOW BOYS CLUB

Chris Smith – NETHERTON AFC

Chris joined the club recently from Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers where he was part of their under 18s setup.

The young physical striker has now bagged 8 goals for the club including a hat trick against SMAFA side Gladstone in an impressive 5-1 victory in the west of Scotland cup and provided a goal and assist away to Darvel Victoria in the Scottish.

Tahir Bhatti – GLASGOW ANSAR

Bhatti has been central to the team controlling games from the middle of the park. He’s been an absolute workhorse this month, creating multiple chances for his teammates and scoring an unbelievable free kick, even for his high standards.

Liam McGeachey – SOUTHSIDE UNITED

When it comes to making a difference, Liam has been nothing short of influential. His presence is felt in both boxes, whether it’s chipping in with vital goals, making last-ditch defensive contributions, or providing that extra bit of composure when the team needs it most.

But what really sets him apart is his versatility. No matter where he’s asked to play, Liam adapts and thrives, bringing energy, commitment, and intelligence to every role. Off the park, his leadership and professionalism continue to shine, inspiring teammates and setting the tone for the squad.

SCOTT SNEDDON – WOODBANK FC

Sneddon is no stranger to the GCFA but the midfield man is new to Woodbank FC as he only recently signed in late August.

The experienced centre mid has had a fantastic month for his club and was a name that has popped up quite continuously when talking about Player Of The Month Nominations.
