🔹 Manager – Cambusnethan Thistle Pre-Match Questions

Your side appear to have been competitive in every league game so far — what’s been the key to that consistency?

We highlighted ourselves at the start of the season that we should be competitive in every game. We have belief in our players that they are good to enough to go and express themselves and perform on the park. So we always try to remind them of the quality they have even when results have slowed down the last few weeks.

Clydebank Sunday are improving despite results; how do you approach a game like this?

We approach every game with the same mentality of going in looking to win. We’ll respect Clydebank the same as every other team. They have good players and strengths within their team but we also know that there are weakenesses that we can exploit.

How important would three points be tonight to stay in the promotion mix?

It’s a strong league this season, a lot of fixtures to play. We will always look to be as high up the table as possible and internally we have our targets for the season. If we take one game at a time and play the way we know we are capable of then I think the boys will get the rewards they deserve.

Any selection news or squad changes heading into this one, especially with the later kick-off?

We felt this season we needed a bigger squad, particularly for situations like these where it’s an unusual kick off time so we will have enough bodied and strong squad. All the boys are choking for minutes on the park and love competing with each other for those minutes.

What kind of performance do you want to see from your players?

It’s no secret that we want to be a football playing side. With that you put a lot of trust in your players to be confident and mentally strong enough to demand the ball even when you’re struggling in a game. Therefore, as long as the boys are playing the way they have been instructed to and give 100% effort like they always do, then I can’t complain.

How has the 6pm kick-off affected your team’s plans and preparation today?

It’s not had a huge impact in all honesty , probably the only thing is more lads were out last night than usual 😂.

Has the later start caused any challenges with player availability or travel?

it’s meant a few guys won’t make it due with both old firm teams playing at 3

From your point of view, would you like to see more evening fixtures like this in future?

I think they could have their place but it really depends on the availability of lads with people working later on Sundays or with other games on etc.
