Plenty of contenders, but one gaffer stood above the rest. Saturday was about control, ruthlessness, and big players stepping up — and he ticked every box. The result was one that few saw coming, and it pushed his side into the spotlight.
Westhill United’s boss Connor Moffat guided his side to a statement win and safe passage in the West of Scotland Cup. For his leadership, tactical nous, and ability to get the best out of his squad, he takes home our GCFA Manager of the Week award.

A wonderful week for Connor Moffat saw him and his Westhill United team progress to the next round of the West of Scotland Cup.

“Saturday was the day Moffat and his team rose to the challenge. They ventured into the lion’s den, stood tall under the pressure, and came away triumphant with three hard-earned points.”
“This result could prove to be the springboard Westhill United need as they look to kick on in their campaign.”

Moffat and his Westhill warriors will fancy their chance of going even further in the competition but they will have to do it the hard way with a trip to Lochgilphead Red Star in the next round.

BIG GAME PLAYERS

We caught up with the man of the moment and he had the following to say ⬇️

Westhill United Boss Connor Moffat said ⬇️
Firstly a big thank you!
I was relatively pleased with our performance over all. I was especially happy with the focus and maturity the squad showed just after half time after to be honest some crazy decisions leading to the equaliser made us feel that it was only going one way.
The pitch we played at was fantastic and that really allowed us to play football and take the game to Cambria. Scoring early always helps but it brings with it a pressure, and to then go 3-1 after half time really gave us the platform to see the game out and with all cup games you end up a nervy finish seeing the game out. All the credit goes to the Matchday squad, boys just back playing 45 and needing to leave everything out there to get us into the next round.
Our rewards are now we have a cracking away trip on the bus up to Lochgilphead Redstar and the boys are buzzing!
